The Telltale game honestly does a great job at a "4th movie" Most if not all actors reprise their roles, it takes place after 3, and it has Marty going even further back in time AND we see another bad present day. They worked with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Dale to make it, too. and they both said that the game was the only way they wanted to make the story because of how much care went into it. I love that game so much.

@@ux92 that's true. There is dialogue options that give out different character reaction, but, like you say, it doesn't affect the overall plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this! I really liked the Tron Legacy futuristic town in the 3rd act. The young Doc Brown was a nice touch that I never knew I wanted, but now I need. I think a young intelligent Emmett transported from the 1930s to 2015 might put up more of a fuss rather than quietly attending music classes, one nitpick with the first act, but the general setup works. This script gives audiences all of the familiar beats of the originals while making the stakes higher and thus giving the story some purpose. On a side note the child characters of Jules and Vern always gave me nightmares....

A part 4 has to include Jules and Verne the way the 1992 saturday morning cartoon featured the boys, you have to build on what we saw in part 3 to do a good part 4. So let's have 4 take place 10 years after 3 -- Jules and Verne are 15 and 16 old enough to drive they build a new time travel car they go joyriding through time getting into all sorts of trouble like boys that age often do. Then you have Doc and Marty and Clara trying to track the boys Doc has to figure out what year they are in and what location and rescue them. This is a good way to start a 4th movie with radical complications to the time continuum happening from what the boys did for fun causing big problems. And you need a relative of Biff so Tom Wilson can be in the movie have him play different Tannens in different time periods. That's the movie I'd want to see.

The dynamic was already flipped in BttF3 with Doc falling in love and acting slightly like an irresponsible/illogical teenager ("I'll stay here with Clara" or "let's take her with us") and Marty keeping him grounded. One thing that also showcases this is how Marty goes "great Scott!" and Doc responds with "yeah, this is heavy" 😝

@@Violet.703 well that's kinda the point, she wasn't supposed to exist at all after her cart crash, I guess the most "logical" (yet cold-blooded) step would've been to somehow orchestrate her death after inadvertently preventing it the first time around. But then again, they were already messing around with the timeline themselves...time travel ethics are tricky lol I think Marty was just using Doc's own logic when reasoning with him, since Doc didn't want to mess with the timeline even by letting Marty use the sport's almanac for financial profit. Marty was calling Doc out on his hypocrisy - somehow it was okay to have KIDS with Clara, whose bloodline was supposed to end at the bottom of that canyon, after he forbade Marty to make a little money with some future sports statitics.

I’m working on a script: MARTY MCFLY, a young man with a wild, untamed hairstyle, stands in front of a large, shiny DeLorean. The car's doors are open and it's hooked up to a large machine with wires and tubes. DR. EMMETT BROWN, a wacky inventor with a wild, unkempt hairstyle, stands next to Marty, holding a clipboard. DR. BROWN (excitedly) Marty, this is it! The moment we've been waiting for! MARTY (nervously) Are you sure this is going to work, Doc? DR. BROWN (confidently) Absolutely! The calculations are flawless. And think of the possibilities! We can go back in time and change history! MARTY (hesitantly) But what if we mess things up? DR. BROWN (chuckles) Marty, where's your sense of adventure? Trust me, everything will be fine. Now get in the car. Marty hesitates for a moment, then climbs into the driver's seat of the DeLorean. Dr. Brown shuts the door and hurries over to the machine. DR. BROWN (excitedly) Here we go! He throws a switch and the machine starts humming. Blue electricity crackles around the DeLorean. DR. BROWN (yelling) Marty, hang on! The machine reaches a crescendo, and the DeLorean disappears in a flash of light. FADE TO: INT. DELOREAN - DAY Marty opens his eyes and looks around in confusion. He's no longer in the science museum. Instead, he's sitting in the driver's seat of the DeLorean, which is now afloat on a vast, dark ocean. MARTY (panicked) Doc, what the hell is going on? DR. BROWN (calmly) Don't panic, Marty. It looks like we've traveled back in time. MARTY (shocked) Back in time? To when? DR. BROWN (consults his clipboard) Let's see... according to my calculations, we're currently in the year 1912. MARTY (stunned) 1912? You mean... the Titanic? DR. BROWN (nods) That's right. And if my calculations are correct, we should be arriving just in time to witness the ship's fateful encounter with the iceberg. MARTY (horrified) No way. We can't just sit here and watch the Titanic sink. We have to do something! DR. BROWN (thoughtfully) You're right, Marty. We have a unique opportunity here to change history. But we have to be careful. Any small change could have unforeseen consequences. MARTY (determined) I don't care. We have to try. DR. BROWN (nods) Alright. Let's go see if we can find the captain of the Titanic. The two men exit the DeLorean and make their way through the stormy seas towards the Titanic. FADE TO: INT. TITANIC - BRIDGE - DAY Marty and Dr. Brown enter the bridge of the Titanic and are confronted by the CAPTAIN, a stern, no-nonsense man with a thick mustache. CAPTAIN (irritated) Who the devil are you two? And what are you doing on my ship? DR. BROWN (calmly) We're here to warn you about the iceberg, Captain. CAPTAIN (skeptical) Iceberg? What are you talking about? MARTY (urgently) It's true, Captain. In a few hours, this ship is going to hit an iceberg and sink. We've come back in time to try and prevent it. The captain looks at them incredulously. CAPTAIN (dismissively) That's ridiculous. This ship is unsinkable. DR. BROWN (insistently) Captain, please. We know it sounds crazy, but you have to believe us. We've come a long way to try and prevent this disaster. The captain looks at them for a moment, then sighs. CAPTAIN (reluctantly) Very well. I'll change course. But if this turns out to be a hoax, I'll have you both thrown in the brig. MARTY (grateful) Thank you, Captain. You won't regret it. The captain orders his crew to change course and steer clear of the iceberg. Marty and Dr. Brown watch from the bridge as the ship turns safely away from danger. FADE TO: INT. DELOREAN - DAY Marty and Dr. Brown are back in the DeLorean, driving through a bright, sunny Hill Valley. DR. BROWN (excitedly) Marty, we did it! We changed history! MARTY (proudly) Yeah, we did. But what about all the people who died on the Titanic? Are they still alive now? DR. BROWN (thoughtfully) It's hard to say. We may have altered the course of history, but we can't be sure what the consequences will be. MARTY (nodding) Yeah, I guess you're right. But at least we tried to make a difference. DR. BROWN (smiling) Exactly. And who knows, maybe this is just the beginning of our adventures in time travel. MARTY (grinning) I can't wait to see what the future holds. The DeLorean disappears in a flash of light, leaving the past behind and speeding towards an unknown future. FADE TO BLACK.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this, though there is one thing I'd change and that is duplicate doc's motivation. it doesn't really make sense to me why he would suddenly want to destroy all of time, even if he felt left alone and was slowly fading from existence. So maybe, instead of him wanting to destroy everything, let him seek out to reestablish his own timeline in which he would be able to continue his normal life. Because of his deteriorating mind the duplicate doesn't notice that this, in turn, would then lead to the destruction of the original timeline, corrupt both of them or something like that. That way his intentions wouldn't be inherently evil and would, in my opinion, make more sense for a character like doc, who's not at all a bad guy. Otherwise I gotta say that this is a fantastic story for a 4th film. I would definitely watch this on the big screen!
@tom2point02 жыл бұрын

that would be totally in line with Dr browns character as we've seen him lost perspective and focus before when he's driven by emotions, like in part III when he falls in love with Clara. One of the things that bothers me the most about these sorts of long-delayed sequels that they often feel they have to bring back some of the original cast members. They started doing this for remakes in the '90s, and it was tolerable then (but still annoying). But when you bring the original actors back in starring roles and not just in cameos, you see how old they've gotten and - for the older fans, at least - the mood gets sad really quick. I remember being very upset when I heard that Disney was bringing back Mark Hamill for the STAR WARS sequels; I thought the people at Disney were insane. I asked: "Why can't they just pretend that no time has passed since RETURN OF THE JEDI, and recast the roles with younger actors?" And when other people heard this question, they told me that no one would ever want to see anyone but Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. And again I ask, "WHY?!" They are not the same people! Luke existed in George Lucas's mind before Mark Hamill was ever cast, or before the two of them even met! And anyway, now that Hamill is about 70 years old, it's obvious that sooner or later they're going to have to find someone else if they want to use Luke again.

I love that dialogue where Marty is trying to convince alternate Doc to give up on his “evil” plan. That felt the most like a scene from the original trilogy. An interesting idea to explore may be alternate Doc’s plan succeeding but instead of destroying everything as we are lead to expect, it corrects the space time continuum.
@cultpython72239 ай бұрын
I like this concept, however it would be more interesting if that instead of correcting the space time continuum, it instead reverts everything back to the first film, creating a time loop.

When you mentioned a spin-off series towards the end, I could see it going that way. We all know a actual movie with the actors we WANT couldn't really happen... BUT, a streaming series could be the way to go. Either way, this fan fiction storyline is as good as anything we could hope for. The switch from Marty being the wide eyed kid caught in a science experiment to being the mentor? Perfect. Having a living paradox in the form of Doc Black, and at the same time becoming Biff in a way? Awesome. This would make a great storyline and I would be there IN-Line to see it IN a theater. One last thought.... wouldn't it be CRAZY if Eric Stoltz took up the role of Marty because of M.J.F's condition? Talk about alternate timelines...

I really like this story, although I would make a few changes personally. For one thing, I would want to see the young Emit Brown involved in the main plot more, not merely as a beginning plot hook. Second, maybe more of a redemption arc for Dark Doc, and certainly not a goal to destroy all of existence. I think a goal to completely prevent the original Doc Brown from ever creating his time machine in the first place would be reasonable. However, THIS action would cause an unintentional paradox which would destroy the entire universe. Finally, I don't think gang members installing weird futuristic gizmos all around town is very realistic at all. Nobody ever asks what they are? What they do? No one else in Hill Valley notices them?? But perhaps taking on a more esoteric, secretive, and cultish vibe is the way to go. It would be a lot more believable that some people might get swept up in gang activities or form some kind of religious cult after witnessing technology so far advanced that it may as well just seem like magic.

I have to say, I really REALLY love this idea as a concept. I also feel like it's a completely unexplored territory in most time travel stories, especially ones that wrap up all nice and neat. Granted, time travel is purely theoretical, so we have no idea how clean or messy it'd actually be if we ever figured out backward time travel but I think you nailed it, at least conceptually. Here’s a possible topic to cover in a future vid: “What If Jennifer had a more significant role in BTTF 2?” Like, one scenario I have in mind (feel free to use or not) is that Doc needs Marty to do what he does in the final film, and tasks Jennifer to keep Marty Jr. away by any means possible. Which could lead to a funnily ironic reversal of the whole Marty/Lorraine thing from the first film. Which leads to Jennifer to the McFly residence (like in the original film) and Doc/Marty need to go after her. Idk. The rest can be up to you if you use this as a basis or whatever.

Maybe driving/piloting the Deloreon in a gag about him not being a skilled driver but an excellent pilot. Agreed. I'd also have Kid Tannen stay as Dark Doc's henchman until the finale. He's a major character in the middle of the movie and then just disappears. That gives you another villain and a redemptive moment for the Tannens when he turns on Dark Doc and buys Marty enough time to save the day. So you'd have Marty/Young Doc/true Doc and Dark Doc/Kid Tannen all in 2085 if I were doing a revision.

If there would have been a part 4, I would prefer it to be this. This is one of my favorite fanscripts you guys have ever made and this truly humble fan was touched. I've always loved the dynamic between Doc and Marty, jumping from time era to time era and proving that no matter where or when these two are they are the greatest of friends. Maybe in another alternate time this movie would have been made, if it were the finale of the series it would have ended on a high note. All I got left to say is great Scott! This is pretty heavy!
@moviesgalore99473 жыл бұрын

The original plan for part four was surprisingly supposed to be an action film, doesn’t sound like Back to the Future. But it’s a good thing that we never got to see that.

I don’t know, after three parts, I’d be up for that.

I think Emma Stone was supposed to play Marty’s daughter on the proposed action sequel

Very clever and entertaining script. Also could explain how Doc could have been alive in 1955 if he was murdered by Buford Tannen in 1885, the graveyard scene in episode 3.

This episode is proof why Fanscription is the #1 reason to subscribe to Channel Awesome. That ending monologue from Doc actually had me tear up a little bit.

Not only do I think this was a great concept. But with the advancements in Computer generated younger characters or even dead people. IE Rouge One. I think they could pull this off even today

I think so they can go back making the character younger again thru computer so we can watch btf with a you'ger versio'n of the character

You mean like they pulled off the 2020 Presidential election fraud where they cheated and used mail-in ballots from dead people and dominion machines? Like that?

I'm both elated and heartbroken right now...... Elated at how absolutely amazing and perfect of a story/pitch and conclusion this would make for this series. Heartbroken that it will never get made. All the kudos to you sir! Don't think Zemeckis & Gale could have come up with a better story.

Just wanna say you did an amazing job! What a great story. I have to rewatch the video because it gets confusing in the middle but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Part of me would like a sequel, and the other part of me says it’s good where it’s at.😊

Not a bad write, honestly this could be if a bttf 4 was thought of, its got twists and all the time travel stuff that i love about bttf. This was really cool imo

This is ... fantastic. Loved every second of it and, I must admit, was even on the verge of tears at points. I, too, grew up watching and adoring these films, and Back to the Future is one of my all-time favorite series. I especially liked the role-reversal dynamic between Marty and Doc, Christopher Lloyd as the "big bad," and the varied time periods and vivid set pieces the characters visited. In a world with too many half-baked reboots and uninspired sequels/prequels that never quite live up to the charm of the originals, you managed to balance a new and fresh story while staying true to the universe and characters so many of us cherish. I would have loved to see this on the big screen.

I love this story. If BTTF IV were ever made, I think this would make an awesome story. More proof that fans can write better stories than hollywood today.

Yeah really. I should write a Star Wars story to be made into a movie. It would be better than the sequel trilogy and be called Episode X: Return of the Empire.

This would have been a great story if it was 1927 for a 13 year old Doc Brown (considering the BTTF game) and seeing Christopher Lloyd reprise his Judge Doom character from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" for the role of "dark doc". This would have been awesome and a heck of a one final great adventure. Great job 👍😊.
