Traore knows the history of Burkina Faso well so he's not taking chances. Thomas Sankara was as young as Traore when he came to power at 33 years. He transformed the country in such a short time yet he was assassinated at age 37 by Blaise Compaore with the support of France and Felix Houphouet Boigny of Ivory Coast. They have already tried assassinating him several times so he has Russian security operatives protecting him. He's smart and I really respect that. The West always use your own people to betray you.

I think Capt Traore has a trend for his side arm based on another video I saw. When he is inside a building with the president he visits, Mahama/Putin, he doesn’t carry his side arm. He is more relaxed and lets his guards provide security. But outside in the open, he sure will carry his side arm as a last line of defense, whether loaded or not (as believed for the inauguration). Either way there is a diplomatic understanding for him to carry.
