So glad you are enjoying it. I used to record it and replay the program when our local PBS station aired it. Capt. Kangaroo visited our station in person in the early 1990s. It was a delight to meet him - the same in person as he appeared on the program - warm and kind.

I read that he used to visit a Children's Hospital in late 80'sl and many other places like concerts, classrooms, foreign countries, Washington DC (early 1971), etc.

Me too, Joyce! What a great program. Keeshan was pretty matter of fact for talking to kids. Mr. Rogers was much gentler. But this was a great show too.
