Don- my husband and I haven’t cruised since Covid, but I have enjoyed watching you and Tony on your adventures. We were able to see icebergs while on our cruise to Alaska, but nothing as close as you got on the small boat. Loved the serenity of the last few minutes on the video- the music was an added bonus.

Koala, koala, koala?! The mental image of koalas taking over the ship but also Koala three times is the safe word for ship drills. Adorable!

On my cruise they were doing a safety drill, and the entertainment director accidentally pressed the wrong button and made an announcement into everyone's rooms at 6am. And then, 20 minutes later, had to make an announcement AGAIN saying that one was just a safety exercise, and take no action. He spent the rest of the day sheepishly beginning by apologising before he spoke to any audience.

You're so right about how amazing the bergs are. Have you ever gone on an Adventure Canada expedition from Canada to Greenland or vice versa? Quite expensive but includes charter flights a d .Uchida more intimate experience. You get to see the bergs by Zodiac, polar bears close up. My last trip ended in Newfoundland but came via the Torngats. That Davies Strait can be choppy though!

To your Iceberg experience, I had a similar experience when I drove through Albuquerque and saw a boulder on the side of a hill with a "tiny" little trailer sitting on top and an even tinier Humvee next to it. You just can't get the scale unless you're there.

We are going to Iceland and Greenland next summer (2025), and are looking into excursions right now. Just talking about an iceberg excursion a day or so ago… this certainly clinched it! Making sure we get on one of those excursions. Beautiful footage! Thanks, Don!

Loved this trip most of all the hundreds you have taken. You and Tony are fun to do day excursions with because you take in everything. Greenland and Iceland were magic. So interesting. Had never been there and the Caribbean Princess had nice memories of cruises with dear friends, one of whom has since passed away. Loved the final shot of the iceberg and the music was a perfect accompaniment. Safe journeys home to you both.

You are right you have to see it for your self. Went to Greenland 2 year ago and getting right up to these iceburgs is something you will never forget. We got close to one that was 4 stories high. I remember going out on the balcony on the ship in the morning and seeing an iceburg the size of a dump truck right next to the ship floating by. Just go do it.

The bluer the ice, the more compact the ice. And then you see purple. Purple is even more compact than blue. Make sure to fish a baby iceberg and to bring it to a bar to have drinks on the rocks.

I keep trying to get my wife's parents to come on cruise with us but they just flatly refuse saying the ships are just huge floating gin palaces. They have been at sea for dozens of years but all on smaller sailing boats and catamarans, they own a big monohull but that's as big as it goes. We both know that they would love the experience but they are adamant, NO.

We did this private tour 2 years ago, but went to the glacier, which was a long ride, and we were on the rib boat, so it was very cold. We did some up-close ice bergs and then got to walk on the glacier. What I cannot get over is the price they are now charging to go a much shorter distance. I believe we paid around $250 per person, which was the most expensive excursion I had ever done. Regardless, it is a once in a lifetime adventure and so worth it. Love your pictures. Now you need to go to Antarticia where they have the grownup versions of icebergs, although you will not get so close!
