It was most interesting to realize that one of those two policemen was played by Bruce Mars who was famous in Star Trek as Finnegan in Shore Leave.

I attended a talk by Gary Lansing at a Star Trek convention just a few years after the episode aired. I was surprised that he looked younger and healthier in person than on-screen. He was surprised and pleased that viewers still remembered his performance.

The producers of the TV series "12 O'clock High" replaced Robert Lansing (Gen. Savage) with Paul Burke (Col. Gallagher) partly because they wanted a younger looking lead. Paul Burke (1926) was two years older than Robert Lansing (1928).

I attended several ST conventions in the 70s and their was never even a hint that Robert Lansing could be an upcoming guest-how I wish he had appeared and had the chance to meet him!

The prime directive, non interference. Those officers were beamed back so fast they couldn't even explain the experience even to themselves. Good work, Mr. Scott!

Some day in the late 70s or early 80s those two cops are at a bar and they meet a retired Air Force pilot and a Air Police Sargent and get to telling wild stories and realize that they all have something in common. 🖖🖖🖖🖖😂😂😂😂

😆 Their (very brief) reactions were hilarious. It's just fortunate that neither one of them jumped off the transporter pad before Scotty had a chance to "reverse and energize."

Hey was that a young Teri Garr? Lovely lady.

It was sad to learn that her experience on Star Trek wasn't a pleasant one for her. Especially with her openly saying that she wanted nothing to do with Star Trek ever again.

Just found a Star Trek short story in which Gary Seven has to prevent a United States Astronaut... Shaun Geoffrey Christopher...from boarding American Airlines Flight 11 in Boston on Sept. 11, 2001.... True ST fans will recognize the name...

Piece of triva: This episode was originally intended as The pilot of a spin-off series about Gary Seven. But the network never went ahead with the series.
@mikebasil4832Ай бұрын
It was the same with the Doctor Who 1981 Christmas special K-9 & Company: A Girl’s Best Friend. The spinoff TV shows that could have been but somehow never were can be good food for the imagination.

I love how after Mr. Seven beams in, two management staff walk by -- one looks like the mission control director, and one looks back at the other, You think that guy is looking at Seven, but he's actually looking back at his colleague. Nicely written and/or directed misdirection of the viewer!

A Gary Seven spinoff would have been quite significantly different from most Star Trek spinoffs that came about in later years and so it could have been very interesting.

I wondered why Spock didn't use the nerve pinch on her. Then I started thinking about how that technique could be used for nefarious purposes in dating situations. Especially by a half-Vulcan with poor morals.
