This is good, but for me nothing can compare to the music used when Carol confronts the Supreme Intelligence, but when it shows her getting up again & again, and then when she pulls out her inhibitor & flicks it to the floor. The music through that whole scene was just so powerful, culminating w/ her passing right through the closed door & blasting the soldiers who were guarding Fury & Maria. That was just so epic. I have just that scene saved on my computer to watch when I need inspiration!

Loved the movie, and loved your edit! I'm a fan of the mcu but I have to say, the movies do get a little formulaic sometimes. Carol's story was refreshing. An origin story that reminded me why I love superheroes stories so much. Can't wait to see her future in the mcu.

I loved Captain Marvel, too! I liked Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot really owned the character!), but it was formulaic, as you said, particularly the obligatory romance & the obligatory big CGI battle to destroy the villain at the end. While CM had the big CGI battle in space, the CGI *was* definitely better than in WW. But the internal battle of Carol breaking free from Kree control was different & so was her familial relationship w/ Maria & Monica. Instead of the predicable romance, the love relationships were with her friend & her friend's daughter & when do you ever see that in a movie? I just hope they continue to give us CM movies that are as "refreshing", to use your term, & different from the status quo as the first one!

@@leow193 I enjoyed the movie. The actress played the closest adaptation of the Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers character pretty well. And seen nostalgia from the mid-90s was the icing on the cake.

Not always. LOTS of us stay down. We stay in cults, in abusive relationships, & in jobs we hate for decades. We let our addictions to porn, cigarettes, drugs, alchol, sex, gambling, food, & the approval of others control us for decades. These things have led to the ruined lives & deaths of countless millions of people & the suffering of many millions more people who care about them. Crippling anxiety, depression, PTSD, & other mental illnesses can control us for years before we break free & many people DON'T break free & choose suicide. If you live in a world where "humans always stand up", then you live in a different world from me. I've seen too much reality & failure to believe that. That's why the scene of Captain Marvel accepting who she is & those scenes of her standing up again & again are so damn INSPIRING to those of us who have little hope of ever being free. It makes us feel like maybe if I try one more time, something will be different this time.
