I love Carol/Val (as I do all MCU femslash ships, they're underrated but good) Also I've always loved the way the MCU actors interact with fans and shippers, it's been in my experience always very positive, and it's fun to feel like you're being given the keys to the sandcastle as it were by the actors/creative staff. I love when actors/actresses/writers/creators/etc support a ship. 🥰 it makes the pairing seem more validated in a way... Not to say that I feel like we need permission for a ship! Just that... it’s genuinely nice to see when they’re able to get why us fans like the pairings we like, or at the very least, not shame us for liking them.

I love the idea of the two being a couple, and the fanart I've seen has been sooo cute! Personally, I cant say if I ship it or not, as in my opinion, neither character has been fully fleshed out enough, nor have we seen either of them in a confirmed canon relationship, which tends to make it difficult when gauging how the two would act if they were romantically involved. I am, however, totally for this ship and those who ship it, and absolutely adore the fan content that comes from it! Plus, I love the idea of Thor being the one to set the two of them up. I have seen the birth of this rare pair on Tumblr, and have watched it rise to the small fandom it now has and I have got to say: I LOVE IT! The actors sharing cute fanart with one another is a great bonus too. I ship Carol with both Maria & Valkyrie. For me, I view Carol & Thor, and Valkyrie & Thor as a brOTP. As well as Valkyrie with either Loki or Bruce. I have been submersing myself in all the cute fanart people have been making, and it makes me really happy to see the fandom come together for a cute rare pair like this. Ooof I love your videos and I should really comment more so here's my take. Thank you for providing us with these videos, they're great! 1 & 2. I became aware of this ship last weekend, after I went to see Captain Marvel for the 2nd time. I saw it on Tumblr, and thought "ooooh that IS great" and then I saw the fanart that Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson exchanged, and now I absolutely support this ship. That one where Captain Marvel is carrying Valkyrie bridal style is the cutest damn thing I've ever seen. 3. Although I do ship it, I'd like to answer this one anyway. I really do like the idea of the Maria x Carol ship, it's great and has a lot of canon to support it. However, I do wonder what happened to Maria after the events of Captain Marvel. Will we ever see her again? I sure hope so. 4. I LOVE when the actors or actresses acknowledge the shipping fandom. It makes me so happy that they would also approve of such a pairing, if it were to be written. In a lot of fandoms I'm in, actors tend to fuel the ships for the fans and I think it's fun. It's not their fault that the ship isn't written into the the show or film, they didn't write it after all. I think it's quite supportive of them to be so open and respectful about it.

Honestly I really like the idea of this ship, it’s cute af. But in that same breath, Rhodey is a ridiculously underrated character and a relationship with someone as prominent as Carol would probably be a great way to bring him the spotlight and care he deserves. And let’s be real. Rhodey is wonderful, Carol would be treated like the queen she is. But overall I don’t really have a preference ship-wise.

Yep, I came out of Captain Marvel not shipping her with anyone and appreciating all the friendships in the movie, but when that Endgame trailer dropped I was all aboard the Thorvel train. And it's fine for fandoms to include many popular ships - what's NOT fine is people attacking other people for their ships, and sadly I see a lot of this on social media with people getting attacked for shipping Carol with any man (but especially Thor, since that's turning out to be her most popular het ship - so far - in the fandom). It's a real wtf moment for me, it's been a while since I've been involved in a true shipping war and it's still early days but I hope it doesn't escalate beyond this.

I'm straight (if you can believe it) and I was already shipping it. But, may I suggest a more poetic name for the ship? *A Valkyrie Carol* I was previously shipping Carol with Sam Wilson, before seeing "Captain Marvel." (Due to their both being in the Air Force.) I still think that ship could work, as Carol and Sam have similar types of humor IMO. But then the trailer came out, and made me Carol/Thor (MarvelHammer? *Marvelous Hammer* !)... and then the lesbians arrived, and now I'm shipping Carol hard with Valkyrie. Also, I'm now imagining Thor saying, "I think it's great that there are lesbian warriors. I remember hearing of the ferocity with which they fought in battle. I used to want to be a lesbian when I grew up. Before I learned that they were all women."

I never would have know about this ship if it wasn't for your channel tbh as I'm one of those who are not on twitter, haven't seen Captain Marvel yet and haven't kept up w fanart of late. I am absolutely stoked about it. Femslash feels like a desert sometimes but this is definitely a ship I can sink my teeth into. Actors definitely fuel my fandom and I don't think I would be into half the ships I am (esp w marvel) if it wasn't for the actors interactions. I honestly don't see Brie Larson or Tessa Thompson encouraging a cannon pairing between them as queerbaiting. In the end Marvel will decide and the only weight they (the actresses) can put towards swaying that decision is by continuing as they are and allowing marvel to see the fan reactions to the idea.

I hadn't thought about this ship but I LOVE Valkyrie. SO MUCH. I haven't seen Captain Marvel yet but it looks good... I could be down with this ship, I'd probably have to watch the movie first though, lol. I definitely don't ship Valkyrie with any of the dudes. I actually really loved how she was shown as having a very bro kinda friendship with Thor and the Hulk, there aren't that many depictions of women and men being friends sans any kind of sexual tension. Regardless of her sexuality, I thought that was a great. Men and women can be friends and equals and work together without sex being a thing: it's totally a thing that happens and is real!! Things I support: more romantic same sex relationships being represented and more NON-romantic opposite sex relationships being also represented!

I like pretty much all the Carol ships. I'm into dark stuff between her and Yon -Rogg, Carol/Maria, and MarVal (as I've seen this ship be called). I think the idea that actors/creators supporting smaller ships is "Queerbaiting" is ridiculous. Actors have no control on the script they are given, and creators and writers deserve to be able to interact in fandom too, especially in comics where most writers grew up as fans of the material they work on. In general I think fans should view creators as people who just want to have fun and interact with their creations, rather than devious people trying to foreshadow canon development via Twitter likes. As fandom grows more mainstream and people who ship go on to make their own books/comics/movies/ shows, we can't just excommunicate creators from fandom all together.

1. I was aware of it, yes. Mostly through cute content on tumblr that was showing Thor setting them up, which I still think is hella adorable. 2. Do I sail the ship, ahahahahaha... yes. I ship all the things. Mostly. There are some I don't like, and they would be much easier to list tbh. I like Maria and Carol too, tho, also adorable, especially with Maria's little girl and the three of them getting to be a badass pilot/superhero family. (As an aside, why are so many characters in Marvel comics named Maria?? Somebody needs to link some of the writers to a baby names website or something, there are so freaking many, usually background, characters with that name. Maria Hill, Iron Man's Mother, Carol's bestie, etc I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like an unusually common name in this universe) 3. I like Valkyrie with Thor, and Valkyrie with pretty much any cute ladies. And if she wanted to cross dimensional lines to carry me off into the sunset I'd be down for that too, just sayin'. As for Carol I like her and Maria when it comes to the movie, from what little I know of her in the comics, her and Rhodey's relationship was pretty cute. 4. I think that it depends on the actor and how they're going about it? But I only know of two examples of celebrities seeming to endorse a ship and I find both of them enjoyable so... (Tess Thompson and Brie Larson with CaptainValkyrie, and also RDJ and Chris Evans with Stony. I am all for this ship and love that the actors support it - but I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything for how it will be portrayed. I'm also all for Dambeau. I ship Carol with any of the kick-ass women basically! Also, I don't know if you take requests, but there is a lesser-known Doctor Who ship that's fascinating in that it was confirmed as canon by the actors, showrunners (pre, during and post season) and was in the script, but the majority of the fandom completely missed it. It was a delightful little slice of fandom that was mostly fluffy, flirty, smutty and an extremely positive space. It was Whouffle, the pairing of the Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald. I've been in fandoms for going on 25 years and I have never seen such a subtle canon het pairing that was completely missed by almost everyone. You could even call it "The Ship That (Almost) Everyone Missed" It got slightly more complicated when Peter Capaldi was cast as Matt Smith's successor, but it actually (inexplicably?) drew more people to the ship despite the huge age gap, where it was now dubbed Whouffaldi. No longer canon (Clara was given a new love interest) there was nevertheless a strange dichotomy in how their relationship was portrayed from episode to episode, like the writers couldn't decide. The Doctor made fun of her and was sometimes outright demeaning but also displayed undeniably jealous behavior towards her new beau. The showrunners and actors were now vocally anti-ship, but then the next season this changed again, the showrunner pointing to episodes from the previous season and saying that the Doctor's comments about her appearance were him trying to convince himself that he didn't find her attractive. The season was centered around their "crazy about each other" (from the actors) relationship and became again a subtle canon ship that while not sexual had undeniable romantic undertones. That once again, the majority of the fandom completely missed. This despite the fact that the Doctor had gone to the absolute craziest lengths he'd ever gone just to get Clara back. Maybe not healthy, sure, but...also not something you do for your good ole pal. 😏 Anyway, your videos are such a breath of fresh air. So thoroughly researched, incredibly thoughtful, resolutely fair-minded and even-keeled and as always, edited beautifully. You tell a coherent story within each and I find myself watching videos about pairings I've never shipped just because I'm interested to see what they're about and because I know I'll learn so much from your video essays. Thanks for being such a thoughtful, intelligent, fair-minded space in the fandoms. 💜

It is also important to look at the male female ratio before condemming shippers, for example Lord of the Rings: It is in my opinion extremely hard to find a femslash pair to enjoy there, simply for the reason that there are just a handful of female characters, and most ships tend to be male slash because of it.

As soon as I heard of this ship I was kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner. YES PLEASE I LOVE THEM. 😍😍😍👩‍❤️‍🚢 I support Carol/Maria as well, but after all there is a 20+-year gap between _Captain Marvel_ and _Endgame_ so it's possible that she could've just drifted apart from Maria in that time.

Ahh, so, Yes, I knew of the ship, Thor has been dubbed god of lesbians for a while, and people were trying to integrate Carol into the Avengers, so after I went to see Captain Marvel I saw a lot of stuff about that, and I also saw Captain Valkyrie And yeah, I definetly ship it, the joys of being a multishipper, But of course a little bit of fleshing out of both would awlays be welcome, but I am rearely NOT on board when it comes to most femslash ships

1- definitely. I was there when the “we cute” tweets went viral. 2- I really like Valkyrie and Carol but I also ship Fury and Carol. Just a bit. Also in a brOTP way. The chemistry between them is so great that any kind of interaction is fun. I headcanon that anyone who meets Carol falls at least a little bit in love with her. 3- I think the actors supporting and fueling this ship is great. It comes across as very genuine, not playing up the fans reactions. It confuses me how someone could see this as queer baiting. They aren’t promising the fans anything. I’m in favor of more positive interaction between actors/writers and the fans/fandom.

My only struggle with this ship is rooted in how hard I ship Carol with Maria, who she was raising a child with. But also who she left (even if for good reasons, she still chose to leave her family on Earth). But also who may still be alive on earth, even if in her 50s or so in current MCU timeline. But I am also not opposed to Carol and Valkyrie, it's just not currently my top personal interest. I would definitely love it in the MCU, especially since it is long past time for SOMEONE to take the leap and have some active LGBT+ rep appear. But I am also beyond over "romance" in the MCU. I'm down for Tony and Pepper because they have a long, built history, and I loved Peter P's first crush ending as poorly as it did and I like that Gamora was interested in her Peter but was also not about to put up with his manchild ways. As for the rest of them, good riddance! I'm glad most love interests were jettisoned. I actually hope Dr. Strange remains just friends with his apparent love interest and I almost hope we never see Sharon again because it is all just so boring and badly done. I don't want Thor paired off with the next hot girl he has a good laugh with. I really just want him to have some friends, especially since, yknow, his mom is dead his dad died in front of him his brother is most likely dead (also done in front of him) his home is exploded (and on his command no less) and he had a sister who killed a lot of his friends and people and then he watched Thanos kill more of his people and Heimdall and now half the universe is dust because he wanted to get revenge more than he wanted to end the threat to the universe. He needs some friends right now, and he deserves friends like Carol. As for fandom.......well, why cant Carol be with Valkyrie and Valkyrie be with Carol and top off the threesome with Thor Hemsworth. If you wanna go full shiptastic, just toss all three in a pot and shake. (Also I love that the actresses are into it. They aren't the writers, directors, or producers and they aren't even promising anything. They're just interested and cool with the idea. That's not queerbaiting. For me, that's more hope in a bottle that their encouragement may encourage some actual decision makers to maybe start to step up. And also it's nice to see famous people being well treated by their fans and happy with their fans and not embarrassed by their fans. It almost feels like it's been a while since that's happened.)

1. I heard about it and I like it. I'm fond of Femslash and want more Valkyrie. 3. I'm a bit cautious about actor endorsed ships because of the RWBY fandom and the massive Bumblebee backlash. The ship was supported by the VA of Yang and later Blake, and that may have lead to some rabid fans. The war between Bee shippers and Black Sun shippers is still raging. Then again, the writers did a terrible job executing it and probably dragged it out on purpose.

i'm sold! Carol/Brunhilde is my newest ship for Carol! 💜 but as i have said earlier, MCU is really everyone/everyone for me. Nat/Pepper, oh yeah! Nat/Wanda, yes please! Racism and Queerphobia is a horrible mix that makes me despair 4. In a world of fiction anything can happen, so I honestly don't understand people 'ship shaming' this couple. 5. Both actresses need to bring out a line of body armour, as they look so good in it! I wanna look good too!
