When I was a kid I used to hate these guys Dilshan, Sangakkara and Jayawardene because they always did well against India and at that time, around 2010, India Sri Lanka series took place every second month. But now I realise that watching your team win does make you happy, watching competitive games makes you happier and I seriously wish Sri Lanka regain their past strength.

More like they didnt utilise him properly for his first 8 years he was given the middle order but once they tried him out as an Opener man was just 🔥 if they made him an opener much early SL couldve gotten a deadly combinations of Dilshan and Sanath at his prime opening for the team

@@user-jn9rj7km9o no man. Initially he didnt have a great technique. He was a great hitter but could not play pace well at all. It took him time to grow into it and then arguably became a better player of pace than spin later on. Huge improvement

I remember watching this match back in 2011. SL was completely outplayed in the first test and they mounted a powerful counter attack here in Lord's. Unfortunately, Dilshan's wicket (SL 370-3) triggered a collapse causing SL to fall behind England's first innings score and the match to end in a draw. Excellent innings from Dilshan btw, pure class.

When I was younger I used to feel jealous and irritated that someone else is also successful without foot movement in foreign conditions like Viru. They both had similar approaches to batting as well. Dilshan was a late bloomer in cricket but he got better and better. Now I wish this srilankan team played again
