Another one of my favourites, and one of the best! Favourite line: GREEN: Do I get a coconut? SCARLET: If we ever get out of this Lieutenant, I’ll buy you all the coconuts you can eat.

I love the serious tone of voice Scarlet uses when he says "I'll buy you all the coconuts you can eat." I hope he kept his promise.

Scarlet probably chose to keep his distance in case the Mysterons tried to use her against him, plus being an indestructible copy of the original Paul Metcalfe may make him feel like an outsider.

Happy to see you looking well, Alexa. The Lunarville stories are my favourites, it was hard trying not to spoil it for you!

When you finish the original series, will you look at "Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet"? It was Gerry's last completed series before his death.
@alexachipman7 ай бұрын
Yes, if I can (as a reactor I cannot tell if a series is allowed until I actively attempt to upload- some are not possible - they are instablocked no matter what you do).

It moves the lore of the show along, as you say. Good luck charm was a nice touch and a relief that it wasn't just a plot device or a trap or something like that. I always liked the way the futuristic vehicles like the tracked one they use here were dirtied down to make them look used. It's not something I spotted again until years later when Star Wars came along. Gerry's team seem to have pioneered that one. Alexa, there's one episode called Traitor which you seem to have skipped?? Unless it's yet to come; it's just that I thought it was somewhere in the middle of the run.

Ah, the darkest part of my childhood, the least ‘favorite’ of mine. The key word is ‘favorite’. I was too young to understand and appreciate Captain Scarlett. The puppets were more realistic than Stingray, so the fear and violence were more ‘real’ for me. The voice of the Mysterons scared the heck out of me! I can still feel that childhood trauma when I hear it now. The artwork in the end credits terrified me. I do wonder if this show resides in the deepest part of my psyche. I now work as an illustrator, sculptor, and model maker. Much of my work is medieval military history, but I also do sci-fi and fantasy. I have recently made an impression with crowds in LEGO conventions with my creations of vast, dark, futuristic cityscapes from Blade Runner. I wonder if my fascination with the dark side that appear often in my artwork came from the fear and dread from Captain Scarlet from my childhood. Thank you, Alexa. I still feel it.

What part of the Middle Ages? Medieval is rather a broad term, much like Victorian!

@@alexachipman Hi Alexa, I have done book covers and book illustrations from the Battle of Hastings to Sengoku Jidai Japan. I am currently illustrating medieval Burmese warfare for a client. I also sculpt on commissions, mostly samurai from Gempei Period to Edo Period. And the Mongol Golden Horde. I also studied architecture in college, so I am doing artwork reconstructing Japanese mountain fortresses (yamashiro) and castles for my own book. If you google samurai heraldry illustrations, some of my artwork may appear. I have shared almost 40 years of research on the subject. Most of my earlier works I have deleted as I continually make corrections and updates as the research never stops. As a result I was invited to write and illustrate for an academic book on Samurai Heraldry.

Another of my favourite episodes. The base interior is so sixties.

Captain Scarlett is great. Alexa, can I suggest if you have not seen already not seen 1970s dystopian film Logan's Run starring Michael York and the lovely Jenny Agutter.

Not only do I know it (and often reference it on this channel) but I was in an audio drama version.
