Never meet your heros, except for Captain. I met him for a minute, and he's the salt of the earth.

Viewing from afar as a Yank in the Pacific Northwest, all I can say is he is the greatest Captain that ever was, is, or will be.

Meet him before a show last night. Sweetest person in the history of the world. He talked to me and some other people then freaked the security gaurds out. He pushed me into an area I really wasn't supposed to go into so I could talk to Dave!!

That's also my favorite Pink Floyd song... See Emily Play is so iconic. Yes it means a lot to the world. Music will save our asses. Music is the only thing that has the potential to save us from ourselves. If we don't blow ourselves up a new Mozart is going to come along and drag us into real CIVILizaton...

Nothing wrong with 'Happy Talk', and Mister Sensible, I believe you are rather proud of it. I LOVED the Reagan and Thatcher references used, in some of the promotional films - nicely subversive! Like the Prince Charles drub: he is a maniac with too much interest in religion to have any use. I love you Syd Barrett memory. 'See Emily Play' is my favourite record. It is perfect: pop concision with beautiful fey vocals and good slabs of feedback - properly noisy and properly meek in equally judicious measures. It captures the English bent and our humour as an island of herberts and dons. Love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I met the Captain before a gig in 2002. He asked if I owed him money. I said I'd buy him a pint...never got the chance. Top bloke.
@hellodaisygray704810 жыл бұрын
I bought him a pint once, just put it on stage (at a smaller venue) Gatwick. Robbed the bar of a tenner. Then he asked the whole crowd for a fiver! Saw him at a carboot in Brighton later that year...He gave me a badge (A butcher shop) but he didn't know that, on the night of the gig - I thrown him a phil collins badge!!!! hhahahahaa - love captain sensible. Hope you're all well x

Only four of the ‘punk’ bands ever matured like fine wine The Damned,Pistols,Clash and Buzzcocks. The rest either got to a point and stopped progressing/improving/believing or gave it up.......or should have given it up. Damned Damned Damned was a great debut album........in comparison Bollocks was over produced and lost its edge and The Clash’s first album sounds like it was recorded in a dustin.
