So great! Saw the Captain play several times in the 80s, in a fuzzy chicken suit, just underwear and completely naked. Always tearing it up. Ooops Smashing It Up. Will forever be one of my favorite guitarist from one of my very favorite bands. Class act for sure.

I was the lead guitarist in a punk rock band. Sensible was a major influence on me. I loved the 60's music he mentions here and I get when he talks about great bands that got boring.

I saw the Captain fall off the stage at The Phoenix in Toronto a few years ago, slipped on some splashed beer and ended up breaking a few ribs! All of a sudden he was gone, and the band stopped playing and everyone was staring at each other, what the hell just happened? Rock N Roll is a hard life no matter how old you are.

I'm with him all the way on the Stones' Psychedelic masterpiece ' 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' and Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd and I know he loves Soft Machine's 'Third' which I also love but I gave the 1st Bee Gees album a listen last week and that was not for me. He's also recommend Genesis' first album in the past. Produced by nonce Jonathan King. I might give this one a blast while watching Richard Hammond on Top Gear. You never know it might be great. Anything before the period before Peter Gabriel went up on stage looking like a giant haemorrhoid.

I find it hilarious these punkers trash 70's Pink Floyd....Dark Side of the Moon is sonically, musicanship wise, songwriting wise and everything else possible 50x better than any punk band ever recorded or played live. Let alone Meddle, Animals, Wish You Were Here, Final Cut, Atom Heart Mother, More!, Obscured by Clouds.....if you don't hear the genius in this music, you're a buffoon!
@koollegged57397 жыл бұрын
It's just punk rebellion, secretly they all dig the Floyd.

Anyone who uses the word “punkers” automatically loses any claim to an informed opinion. As it happens, I’m an old punk & life-long fan of both The Damned and 70s Pink Floyd.

Dark Side of the Moon era Floyd were the absolute antithesis of year zero 'punkers' such as the good Captain. If you take a moment to listen to the interview he states how much he loves the Syd era Floyd. They wanted Syd to produce the Damned's 2nd album, but had to settle for Nick Mason instead, who, in many peoples opinion made a terrible job of it - no understanding of the punk dynamic, the urgency, the angst or humour involved in a band such as the Damned. make of that what you will 'Daddyo'.
