I noticed one jack caught jigging at night. Have you had much success otherwise night jigging? Do you use glow jigs or tip hooks w/glow Gulp! or meat? Have had good luck speed jigging w/some light -- as early as nautical twilight long before sun came up -- but not at night jigging for jacks. Pleased to see March is not too early for jigging. Thanks for posting.

I use glow tube on the assist hooks, rather than shrink tube. Could be that the jacks just chase the light down there. I caught a lot during the night, jigging, I also had a 20lbs cobia that I didn’t get on camera.

Hey, I got a quick question. How was it on the boat? I do a lot of bass fishing and that doesn't bother me. We are going out on the Captain Stacy in June but I'm a little worried about sea sickness lol.

It's a big boat, so I find it fairly steady even in semi bad weather. At least better than a small boat. in the end all depends on the weather

Are the Captain Stacy's rods and bait any good?

FrozenPopcorn the bait is fine, cut squid and mackerel. If you need whole squid or pin fish you need to bring yourself. I’m not a fan of the rods, they are used and abused day after day, but will do what is required. If you plan on going more than once I would recommend one of the $150-$200 sets from the outdoor shop

jayZ B I think it was about 12-14 hours, more than enough for me. We didn’t move a lot once we were on the grounds

You have more room than we ever had on that boat. There would be no casting, only vertical jigging!

We went in march before I think. It got cancelled and pushed back till may. Then April trip cancelled until this weekend, 7/20. We bring a bus load though.

Wouldn't lose so many kings if you'd loosen your drag a tad and tire them out...

Shawn Laskowski the kings mostly bit the mono, the drag won't change that. Some of the jacks could probably have been fight with less drag, but you always have to take Mr shark into account. Not a lot of time to mess around with these fish

Should've took some AFW. Cant miss when using that. Kevlar assist hooks or wire assist hooks also.

I like to get the honest opinion about fishing the captain Stacy. And I don't wish to have the opinion of the mate the maids wife the mates children the captain's wife the captain's children I'm talking about people who are customer only. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has experienced a bad time with this captain or his mates. I have video where there was racial tension between a mate and an Asian man who was fishing on the boat from 2016. So share their time on this boat and what they encountered I would appreciate it. I don't want to give up fishing with him because a one-time incident but if I find out it was multiple incidents not including mine but others then I can clearly say this is common practice for this operation and I will not support it again. I ask this because I was on this boat approximately four to five years ago the mate was not friendly to my group of people. I was mistreated where someone stole my purse and what I bought it to the attention of the captain he pretty much just brush me off as if to say there's nothing I can do about it. However if he concerned himself about the people who Patron his boat what he could have done was call the cops so that this way they can meet at the dock When we arrive so I can file a police report as to what took place. I think it's unfair that he does not show concern for people who report to him a problem taking place on his boat. You should be fair to everyone not just to people who support your business locally we came all the way from Massachusetts and we're treated horribly.

D Bynum I haven't experienced anything like what you describe, definitely no racism of any kind. I find that most people mind their own business, but always in a friendly atmosphere. As all other places, there is a risk of meeting someone with foul intentions, so I can't say I'm surprised that you had a negative experience.
