@@tirlio I mean, you're allowed to have that opinion, but like, I can't think of any modern stop motion that goes for that look other than LAIKA (who granted are behind most stop motion films these days, because there just aren't a lot of them). I mean most other modern SM productions embrace the handcrafted feel of the medium, just look at Isle of Dogs, the SM scenes of the Little Prince, and My Life as a Zucchini. Besides I would argue that even if the films have a polished look and merge CG with practical effects, you can still tell that it's hand made. It just has this realness to it that's impossible to achieve with CG (unless you're worthikids apparently)

I can't even understand how he did it, _and I mess with blender_ For the animation, I guess he could use some really choppy, stepped interpolation, and the faces are easy enough to change with shape keys, again with a constant interpolation. But the lighting is too good even for blender, those materials are absolutely spot on, and as you said, animating the hair just slightly on each frame would be pretty amazingly time consuming, I have no idea how to automate that. And then the composition of the shots, somehow making it look all blurry and low resolution like a true, vintage claymation show. The compositing alone makes my head spin

I can’t help but think this would have a popularity boom if the thumbnail featured the characters faces! You were SO authentic, I can’t help but think a lot of people are mistaking this for a video on old media/anime in their recommended pages!

Now some say that worthikids sold his soul to get these skills. But it's obviously a mixture of hard work, hard work, and the souls of hundreds that makes him this good.
@sleepCircle

yes, he didn't 'sell his soul' that's dumb he clearly SUCKED IN THE SOULS of countless artists, like a huge black hole of skill he is now well below the schwarzchild radius and his soul mass is growing we're all doomed but at least our doom will be *fabulous looking*

This looks so goddamn real it's disturbing. Like, Worthi somehow dug an old VHS of this series out of his basement and just sent us the footage. Not only that, it's such a charming short as well. Yajima is just so cheerily upbeat, and Zoga is such a drama queen. And Professor Genius is totally deserving of his own show.

I love how, even tho the whole thing is animated in Blender, he still added details to make it look like it's all stop motion, like the wires on "floating" objects!

Arguably, this IS his own show. If anything, he seems to be the Doctor and Yajima is the companion. He just lets her be the face because she sells the most among humanoids.
