There has been a LOT of confusion around the webs for a little while about this drone. There's been a lot of blogs/videos (going MANY months back) claiming an 's' version that had the bottom sensors, many included a mixed bag of links and questioned whether or not you'd get one with the (non existant) bottom sensors. Thank you for clearing this up and reviewing this ACTUAL 's' model! The extended range/controller repeater is a HUGE upgrade. Also, buyer beware! Watch out for the 'Ruko' and a few other SAME models that are simply rebranded and priced higher.

I was introduced to the F11 4K pro by your reviews. I was convinced that this is the one I want for my first drone. I've loved how it performs. Great camera, especially with the EIS. I've become more comfortable with my operating skills, and have even done pictures and video for the place I work, and also others who have seen the quality. I'm looking for something with more range, and with that I'm wondering if I need something with obstacle avoidance in order to expand my skills. I've had some issues operating in my home area because of the amount of trees and have crashed a few times while gaining experience. I've been looking at the F11S 4K PRO, and also another review you've done with the SJRC F22S. Pros and Cons are just out of my league when it comes to choosing the one that would work best for me. I purchased the F11 4k Pro. Was a great drone for starting out. If I would be purchasing my first drone now, it would be the F22s 4k Pro. Distance is better, and at least some obstacle avoidance. I think cameras are the same, and I was happy with the F11 4k Pro

Finally SJRC made a better version of the original, super famous cheap drone SJRC F11... I may not buy it (Might buy DJI Mavic 3 Pro instead) but I am sure that it is a superb beginner drone... 3 KM is more than enough for a beginner drone, 4K camera is so good and gets better because of the 2-axis gimbal! (3-axis was most welcomed btw) Looks beautiful and performs nicely, that means it is going to be more famous than other Beginner drones!

Just got mine today! What a wonderful cheap drone... Video quality is excellent! Found the gimbal tilt gets messed up when you don't gyro calibrate before every flight. Takes a second and not a hassle!

Thanks for the review of this F11s. This will be my first drone at 62yrs. I bought mine through Walmart, even though it is still coming from China. The price is similar to Banggood, but I have a brick and mortar to deal with if there are any issues. This seems to have all the features needed as well as distance with connectivity. There are more choices than you can shake a stick at for the price point, but if I like it, I'll step up to a swoopy drone that can boogie. This one should be good for scenic stuff and having fun.

Not even close. I bought this drone under the RUKO F11 GIM 2 name $400 and the Mavic mini SE FOR $299. Mavic mini SE is lightyears ahead of this thing. If the price point for this drone is between 150-200 then it is worth considering for sure.

Large drones are no longer popular due weight and drone rules in each country so the models your looking for may only be available on eBay. DJI still makes the Phantom 4 Pro and older used models are easy to find. Swellpro and Yuneec still make large drones.

SJRC is my first Drone and I am having a lot of hours using it until I crashed it on a coconut tree, it's arms thing broke and the wires are disconnected. I repaired it with those 5 minute epoxy thing and back in flight again until the battery bulges and won't fit anymore. The Drone is F11, not the pro and not the 4k. It can only do 1080p video and it's wobbly and has the weird fish-eye lens effect thing. But have almost the same features as on the newer models. You can fly it with the GPS disabled but it would drift anywhere.

Hey Craig I don't know if you got the drone already or not, but I got mine a couple of days ago, and I can tell you it definitely does do the three kilometers easy. The image is smooth there's no break up on the return to home when it turns around and it's amazing. The only issue I was having is the app will crash just random. But once you reestablish the connection your fpv comes back and everything is fine.

Captain Drone ... while I always enjoy your reviews, I have to disagree with one thing you said on this one ... it's regarding the "Compass Calibration". The ONLY time I calibrate my SJRC F11 Pro 4k is when I am flying in a NEW location. If I fly out back behind my condo, I calibrate it the 1st time and maybe made 50 flights after that and never re-calibrated it. It always flew perfectly. When I go to my daughters house and fly there, I calibrate it for THAT location. Same goes for any other NEW spot I fly and that includes going back to my condo site. But in all cases, I only calibrate it the FIRST time at each location, change batteries and fly again as often as I want over several days, etc.. It is very easy to calibrate and I do like that you do NOT need the app to do this. Now, I really like the version you are reviewing here because it has the upgraded Transmitter with LED screen showing telemetry of battery, height, distance, etc ... and no more silly back-lit pre-printed screen! So, if you just do some LOS sport flying and don't use the app, you still have that information available ... nice! IF it also had the Optical Flow Camera I would absolutely buy one of these, unfortunately it does not. Anyway, keep up the good work. I'm always looking for your reviews.

Hi Captain , there are many places in Canada that I would be able to do a range test with that Drone and not bother a single Soul but obviously to post it is where the problem comes , well that is the Law and that is why it is such a Beautiful Country , you have to enforce strict Laws and uphold them , the F11 seems to have a really good camera and I think it runs neck-a-neck with a lot of the other so-called Pro Drones that are really expensive and costly to maintain , having something like this will get the job done with no fuss , nice one as usual , take care Cappy

Great review, lovely to see how much fun you're having creating these vids. Also great vid editing with the animations in it, comme un pro! Next thing is; I miss the subject of protecting your drone. My aim is to use it while horseback riding in forrest, and sailing. So logical questions for me are ; how much noise does it make (horses don't like that), can I add protective bumpers e.g. to avoid collisions with branches, can I add little floaters so it won't drown? I noticed a default return height, does that mean that it will first climb to that height (very important in mountains) and then start returning to its home position? Sorry for all the questions, I find them not easily answered on the web.

Bought this drone for the better camera than the Bugs 16 pro, sadly GPS on this F11s takes for ever to lock. Even when locked it drifts way more than my Bugs3 pro. I just cannot trust this F11s when near anyone including myself. I have to watch all the time or it will start drifting away. My Mavic mini 2 is rock steady never have to worry if it drifts, but has the airport restriction mess even 4 kilometers away have to get an unlock every time,,waaaaa Love your video your are the Captain!

Great drone! Pretty stabil good for beginners. I don’t think it’s quite 4K camera 🎥 since it’s a 8Mg camera that’s on it. It’s not bad at all! But even in the SD card it’s like 1280*720p ? I wonder 💭 Top speed should be about 15m/s I got it to 12m/s with wind pushing it in the back 😁. Considering other drones from dji, parrot and other, that are more expensive. You get pretty decent hardware and quality 💪🏼🤙🏼😎 I have made some mods on mine, with other propellers and adapters. Landing gear.. now it’s way better than most drones. Thx for making awesome content and inspiring videos 😎💪🏼

Normally TRIM is an adjustment to up, down, left, right... but in the world of drones we don't use Trim. That is more for the RC Airplane hobby.

These drones tend to like micro SD cards that are of a certain size and formatted a certain way. My only advice is try different cards. I often use a Class 10 card (new) that is 16 gigs.

Ha ha, that is Canada and our 4 very distinct seasons (explains why Canada is filled with tourists). Summers are crazy hot here and winters are the opposite. As long as you are moving in the cold you stay warm. Standing still flying a drone chills the bones.

Hardly any drone reviewer really test the follow-me feature. They do 2 steps 'Yes it follows' and that's it. Many don't even know the difference between the types of GPS follow-me and optical active-track. Maybe a job for for you? All I can say is that the Fimi A3 is the only budget drone I had that was useful. It can follow you on a bicycle, motorcycle, car. That is because of the controller with built-in GPS. And while some drones do a better job than others, they never are accurate and responsive enough following the GPS of your phone. So unless you spend more on a Parrot Anafi, DJI Air, Phantom, Mavic, or Skydio 2, I would not expect too much. Apart from the Fimi A3 that is. As for the F11 4k, the follow-me isn't too bad compared to other drones. It will stay in compass position. But for example the L109 Pro is more reliable and does a return-to-controller, which it should as you don't want to ride back all the way to the take-off point. Chinese drone manufacturers don't always understand how a follow-me drone can and should work. I'm pretty sure they could build one if they listened to me. Such a drone would not have to cost more than $200. All they have to do is put everything already there on really cheap drones in one package. What it doesn't need is sensors all around and super stable 4k video.
