Good review you did here. I purchased one of these a few years ago. Its fast and tough. Ran 50 batteries thru it and nothing broken yet. I recommend 2 things for owners of this to do. First Grease and clean prop shaft after every 5 batteries, Second raise both trim tabs 5mm, the boat will make better right turns and gain 2 mph. Happy Boating

In "MY" opinion , this is best video of yours I've seen to date.. Very well done ! ... I have this boat and it's the best boat I own , extremely quick handling and for $140 , it's a fast boat too... "Keep the drive shaft/cable greased " to avoid it breaking AND tape the top cover before each run, sometimes it comes off during a hard crash .... GET THIS BOAT ! You won't regret it ! (Replacement parts aren't easy to locate but can be found)

I noticed that boat has trim tabs and appear to be adjustable...if so, the port side tab can be lowered to compensate for load imbalance. Would be a great feature if trim tabs were servo controlled which would increase performance at top end speeds...something to think about

Nice sharp review, to the point and capturing it's excitement. I have two UDI008 (18inch) boats and they are just as much fun. I have a 005 (24inch) on order now as that is the bigger brother. But they perform very much the same (3s power too) but this one is meant to be a touch faster. I can perform stunts with my 008s - they dive and jump out the water like a flying fish doing fast tight full speed circles. I've even seen it do a circle under water. Not really what a boat should do and the receiver (and therefore transmitter) did need replacing eventually as it is not water proof. So I'll be interested to see how the Arrow performs - I have seen one go underwater too on video but really I want it for 5mph more speed. UDI seem to make machines that look as good as they go.

Thats a beautiful boat! I always think that UDIRC is a bit underrated... They make good RC vehicles... Thats so fast! Almost as fast as Mini 2. Range is 150 metres? Nice but not even close to DJI Products... I want DJI to make RC boats!!! It will be super cool if they managed to make a boat with 4K, 3 axis gimbal camera with a range of 10 KM!

Can't fly at the airfield east of town. The housing project that moved in right next door said no cameras. So I can't even fly my old gas - line airplane I've had for 60 years. So they are hanging from my ceiling now. Glad you live where you can still fly !!!

April to July buyers report battery and connector problems. Burnt connectors, hot and low duration run time. Would appreciate an update on this if you had issues too. It is capable of harder turns than that ! Sometimes it turns "SO" hard and violently that it completely submerges itself , then pops back to the surface like a great white shark .... LOL

We purchased two UDIR/C boats. The box came all dented and the first hour in the water all the wires fried on one. We complained with our credit card company and after months of our credit card company talking with UDIR/C boats they turned us down. No replacement or credit or even wanted to see the boat. I guess they don't have a warranty for more than one hour!!! My be only $200.00, but for an hour that is Very expensive!

That is unfortunate. Normally when it comes to inexpensive RC products, boats are normally the ones with the least components so very low in price and rarely have issues.

It might be OK. You only need to greese the shaft if you ran it in sea water. Lake water has less effect on maintenance.

Nope. There is no CAMERA drone on the consumer market that can follow an RC Car, Truck, Boat, Plane, etc. The only drones that can are FPV Drones, but that is with the pilot at the controls.

For boats the c rating is rather low as it makes little difference since you are always on the throttle, so 25c being the lowest and 50c being standard. The capacity would be similar to the mAh of the battery that comes with the boat.

You can use any size that won’t cause the boat to sink due to weight :-). Stick with what I showed in the vid and only go slightly higher.

Thank you for the great content! I really like my UDI005, but I’m currently having an issue with it, and I was wondering if you could help me? When I go forward I don’t have any issues, but as soon as I touch reverse the motor stops responding to forward throttle. Even if I give it full trottle it just barely twitches back and forth. Also, for a while when I start it full throttle it takes several seconds to respond and get up to full throttle. Do you think these 2 issues are related? Thank you in advance for your input!

It is designed that when you give forward throttle, you must BRAKE, then you must BRAKE again to go into reverse throttle

Be careful with this one I’ve seen at least two videos of people that got the battery wet and an exploded. The boats leaked on them without going underwater. Just because it’s popular on banggood doesn’t mean it’s the best.

Batteries that are of the Lipo type are designed to get wet, very wet, and they don't explode due to getting wet. Perhaps you are thinking of an ESC... that is the only item in an RC vehicle that will smoke if it gets very wet, and if on land (like in rc planes, drones, cars) it can catch on fire. The ESC in this boat is water sealed so that does not occur.
