I really want to have richer ore down there, and for the stone to be a lot harder to dig through so you don't just carve your way through the planet instead of spelunking. I want to drive a rover down there with a small base on it, convert it to a static grid when I've found a good area, and have another smaller one for deeper spelunking. Imagine driving kilometers down in to the planet, and not being able to immediately point up and dig to escape, but still having the option to carve things out for base building or tunnel construction if you really want to? You could set up an automated drill so it chews its way through the stone while you do other things, giving more time to explore while also making digging while so deep more practical. Oh, it could be a 'surface' layer of softer stone before it hits the dense stuff, so you can do digging for a few meters in to the rock before you hit the hard stuff and need to _really_ work it to get in.

The main question I want awnsered. Is if I can take my ship dunk it under a body of water, fill it with water. Fly it to another planet including use of jump drive so the trip does not take hours or days, and then release that water over something like an artifical creater on a mars like planet, and once I have done that the water will try to freeze to ice or not. Oh and possible vr compatabilitiy. I know that is never exactly a high priority particularly with indie games like this but space engineers is the sort of game that could benifit wildly from vr capability.
@William027111 күн бұрын
I have a feeling that water won't go with a jump drive but I suppose air does, though it's two very different systems. Maybe they'll let us fill up a fluid tank to carry it and hopefully process it into H2 and O

Well, a nice addition, but the top priority should always be on space stuff or they don't use their resources not right. There are already so many space stuff that need to be improved for SE2. If the possibility of building ships on the water is created in the process, absolutely great, but it shouldn't be something that belongs directly on their roadmap. Maybe they want that space ships can float in the water (what would be nice), then you have that as a side product.

It would be cool, but the ME structure Integrity system would just cause issues without heavy modifications. Ships and Stations in space should not have issues as far as this goes. Maybe Stress Specific but that is also just a mess.

One thing I've often seen SE players complain or fear is that SE2 will be as constrained by resources as SE is, b/c these players have no idea how far the SE engine has been pushed. As you said, planets weren't oriiginally part of SE's design scope. For the past 9 years that we've had planets, SE has been like a walrus forced into a human-sized swimsuit. That's why the limits of the game and engine are so constantly evident in play. An optimistic view of SE2 and VRAGE3 would be that since KSH intimately knows how far SE players regularly push the limits of SE with our ridiculous Clang-wagons, wheels made of wheels, etc, that KSH has designed VRAGE3 and SE2 from the ground up with a framework that can scale up better for crazy 300K PCU or million-block builds, subgrid monstrosities, etc. That's what KSH's videos of their HAVOK 2022 tests seem to suggest, anyway. Plus the baseline expectation of hardware today is 10 years more advanced than it was back when SE came out, so yeah, KSH can build a game that can count on more players having today's average level of PC hardware as opposed to a 2014 level of average PC hardware.

i wish the water had "pressure" when moving, like when he made the hole in the side of the mountain and the water just kind of dripped out was a bit dissapointing, it would have been way more than that, like if you were to make a base deep underwater and you made a hole in it, depending on how deep it is the water should rush in at different speeds, deeper = faster, and if water is really fast then it would damage components too and kill players, they kind of just made more sophisticated minecraft water physics with voxels
