This is a premium figure , like if you compare that to a Star Wars Blackseries Figure, 12.99 is an amazing price .

£12.99 is a very good price for what it is! Maybe it's just me but I do feel like some people are looking for things to complain about now
@tiberiusstudios849319 күн бұрын
Absolutely agree with your points. As someone who wasnt collecting when the original came out, this is incredible! The wires could look a little messy on the old one so i think this works and as you said the face is far more accurate. And for 12.99? Bargain. CO could probably have gotten away with charging 20 quid cuz of the unique scuplt but they didnt and i think thats amazing.
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
Definitely, it's something which so many people have wanted and now they have it, that should be enough

Great mention about the price, when i first saw it advertised i had to double check it was £12.99, amazing price, and considering the prices on ebay, it seems nobody is selling these for under £20....I'm not a massive fan of the McCoy era, but this figure rocks.
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
Exactly, alot of people I think were expecting it to be more, so for the price it is, for the quality it is I think it's a good deal

I so agree with what you said about the product. If they want the wires coloured, then colour it! If it doesn't it doesn't align properly, then fix it! The chance is they will keep it in the box anyway! Good for the price! lol
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
The alignment part is slightly harder to fix to be fair but the wires absolutely, and even then it's still great for the price!

I removed the plastic blister by cutting it carefully with a Stanley knife, keeping the knife as close to the card as possible. The background image remains undamaged and the slight remnants of the plastic are barely noticeable.
@CaptainJimiPie15 күн бұрын
I did consider doing it that way however the problem then is not only having the remains of the plastic on the image but it also means you can’t put the item back in the box (in the way it’s intended to be displayed). By cutting down the back, whilst it does damage the image that is hidden by the figure once it’s back in the shell

Whatever issues this figure may or may not have, just having this figure released again makes me so happy, and it’s a great price too, so nothing bothers me at all 😊
@CaptainJimiPie18 күн бұрын
Exactly, it's such a sought after figure it's great to finally have it actually released again
@MaxCarnage198419 күн бұрын
I actually don't mind the warped hinge on the dome. Just makes it emulate the cheap prop feel of the time. 😊 As for the figure, there's no B&M near me, so I'll have to go the ebay route. Really looking forward to adding it to my collection. 😊
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
I don't overly mind it, but I can understand how it is one of those little annoyances for people, but equally as I said in order for them to fix something so minor they'd have had to retool it and that would have cost far more
@jackboulter490120 күн бұрын
I think this packaging would work well for the special weapons dalek as well if that ever does get re released fingers crossed 🤞. Also getting more big finish daleks would be amazing too 😀.
@CaptainJimiPie20 күн бұрын
Definitely, there's lots of single releases that would be suitable for this package size
@TheCyberman196619 күн бұрын
If I could have one one thing as a single box release it would be an emperor Dalek frim evil of the Daleks as it’s the only Dalek I don’t have in my 60’s Dalek figure collection
@CaptainJimiPie18 күн бұрын
I did think after I filmed my review that an Evil Emperor would be perfect for a single carded figure like that

If it was a 2 pack, I'd have liked to see a 7th Doctor, there hasn't been one since 2019 and that one wasn't the most accurate anyway
@CaptainJimiPie20 күн бұрын
A Seventh Doctor wouldn't have been a bad shout to be fair, although I do feel like a Remembrance variant wouldn't have been THAT unique enough for the set unless it had something like a serious hatted head but that would have then been also more tooling which would have put the cost up

I’d love it if it’s possible to do a head swap. The new colouring with the black lip is much nicer, plus my original I got when I was very young, so his mic is broken off (and missing) and one of his wires is only connected at one end, so all those factors combined, it would make sense for me to do a head swap.
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it does seem that the head on the new one is glued in place, not sure why. Personally I'd say I'd be easier just to paint the wires on the new one
@acanimations122319 күн бұрын
at £12.99, not like it would be too bad of a mistake if I messed it up, availability would be the big worry
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
I'm considering picking up another for customising myself
@KSlK19 күн бұрын
i think for some of the people complaining, maybe it is that price is not an issue and they would prefer higher quality and pay something like 17.99 for it, for me i am not that bothered and will be buying a few so i can do customs
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
The problem is, as I said, if you charged more than £12.99 you'd then get people saying "but I can get two Daleks for only a few £££ more", because at this point I honestly think people are looking for things to complain about. £12.99 is an absolute bargain price for such a sought after figure and (maybe it's just me) but I think people are complaining because even though it's now the price they're happy with, it's not exactly what they want.

I thought we get himself 2 imperial daleks and special weapons dalek

Although they have previous released sets from Davros' stories like that back in the day they were about £40 back then, so today they'd likely been well over £100

You know, I miss the days when this line was aimed at children. I feel, after the 3.75 range failed (which was the last time Character Options geared the line to kids), they went down the ‘adult collectible’ market and that’s created stupid expectations. Personally, I don’t need everything to be 100% accurate… because the toy line never boasted that.
@CaptainJimiPie15 күн бұрын
In all fairness and contrary to popular belief, this is a line that was never really aimed at children because they always recognised the importance of the older audience who watched the original classic series. In my experience over the years I'd actually say that the ones who complain most about accuracy are actually the children who watched the show on it's revival who are now grown up and expecting accuracy. The majority of adult collectors are just happy to get continued merchandise.

In comparison to the original i think its 100% better, the face paint is definitely much better and the wires are quite subtle and not too in your face like the original. For 13 quid its a brilliant model
@CaptainJimiPie20 күн бұрын
Definitely, for something people have wanted for so long, it's pros and definitely more than it's cons
@JohnSmith-pw9lk19 күн бұрын
12.99? in Australia we pay $50 which is the same as 25.72 pounds
@CaptainJimiPie18 күн бұрын
That is a lot but I suppose retailers have to cover the import cost too
@JohnSmith-pw9lk18 күн бұрын
@@CaptainJimiPie They could import it directly from china and it would cost a lot less, instead of sending it to england first, but someone would have to think of that first.
@CaptainJimiPie18 күн бұрын
That would work alot better!
@danloke351119 күн бұрын
I understand that people want an accurate figure but at the end of the day it's a cheap plastic toy designed to be played with by children. Your average 9 year old is not going to be too bothered that the wires haven't been painted or that the skirt isn't accurate, he/she's just happy to have a really cool Dalek toy to play with.
@CaptainJimiPie19 күн бұрын
Exactly, I think alot of people forget that it's still a toy at the end of the day, it might still say Collectors Figure on the box but it also says age 5+. The real problem is that people want a highly accurate and detailed figure but for a price like £12.99 and they'd rather complain about not getting it than being willing to admit that what they want just isn't possible.
