I understand Dak and Pig's reasoning for making the riot shotgun 20 gauge. It would be redundant to make a shotgun mod that does the same job of the vanilla shotgun. The combat shotgun is already the riot shotgun, just crappy looking. Ergo the ammo switch.

I feel like the combat shotgun is worse than the riot shotgun. I feel like in fallout 3 the shotgun did way less damage than the riot one did although in New Vegas shotguns are powerful because they have Perks that give them increased damage and like extra effects like knocking people backwards

@@smokedbeefandcheese4144 that's just because Todd Howard made the enemy NPCs in Fallout 4 bullet sponges. There's where the balance and issue lies. Both FO3 and FONV proportionately balanced NPCs, all the fleshing ones what balance to receive high crit chances while robots, deathclaws, radscorpions, behemoths, cazadores, armored human NPCs, and certain ghouls were just a bit tougher. FONV decided to add ammo variation to address certain situations, which made the game a lot more fun. FO4 decided to take the dumb-downed and made level scaling NPCs that got harder and harder to put down the higher the level, got rid of ammo variation in place of borderlands style legendary drops, which in my mind made special weapons and equipment kind of cheap. The only thing that kept weapons/gears more interesting in FO4 are the modularity configurations.

You know, most of my Fallout 4 mod video folder is filled with your videos, you have good taste and it saves me alot of effort in searching for good weapon mods, not to mention examining them for how useful or fun they are. Thanks!

Didn't we have a riot shotgun sometime ago? Either way this one is way more better

Yeah. Back in 2018, there were mods to give it custom animations (since it didn’t have any in the mod), along with giving it better texture. But I do agree that this one by Dak is better.
