The ratchet blast uses the same mechanism as the Nerf Rattler. I designed both of them back in the mid 90s. I also watched the k26 video on the old bow and arrow. The easiest way to upgrade that is to just snip the tip off the barrel. If you snip it back far enough you can fit an old school dart in that barrel. It will shoot it 75 feet easy. The reason we couldn't leave the tip open on that bow is you can launch pencils and other objects out of it.

The boomco blasters where in order of appearance the whipblast flipbow and breakflip and as you may have guessed the flipbow had bow arms and the string moved which is what the cut in the side was for.

2:15 Pretty sure you ended up getting a lot of old ammo, but you can make Old Mega barrels out of 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC and slugs out of 5/8 foam backer rod, if I remember correctly.

I am commenting before watching..I took a Ratchet Blast apart once to try to repair a broken pin and couldn't get the mechanism back together..good luck..who knows? With your guidence, I may bring out my box of parts and revive my blaster.

I use one of the small tripod mounted chronographs... I was wondering why when I test an upgraded blaster it may say 236fps at times or 344fps when most of the darts come in at 95 to 100 fps at times. thanks.

I would of chosen french, but I know people in mexico( that is how I got the double rush) and there is a toddler who can't speak english, and a grandmother who also speaks very poor english, and I would like to actually be able to talk to them.

Captain Xavier it is I guess technically a ratchet. It has a crank that you turn to prime the blaster. Picked one up when they were a $5 add on Amazon item. Very fun but very impractical which is sort of the Boomco motto
