Most have the outboard engine. I think the bigger boats have internal drives or jet drives on them .

Glad to see a new video from you. I’m sure you know those big aj’s will slurp down a small to medium size bonito, which can sometimes be easier to catch than some of those other bait fish.

Get a boat rod, 6/0 penn, tie on a grappling hook and drop it off an overpass and hook a tractor trailer. That’s AJ fishing. Reef Donkeys fight all the way to the boat

I don’t fish enough that far offshore to know. Generally first light at the floater rigs 90-120miles is your best bet for that. The Yellowfin bite is better in the spring

Keep filming brother and tight lines!! O yeah! I have a lot better success with the sabiki rigs when I tip them with a tiny piece of squid. I didn’t see in the video if you were doing that or not. We got owned at the Swingle on our Avett's. Managed to snag a smaller one high in the water column on the jig though. Wish we had the same success as y'all!

Dang that sucks. You win some you lose some I guess. Try dropping one bait at a time down and pull off the wreck when you get hooked up. That’s the only way I do it now if I’m specifically targeting jacks. Them big ones seem to wreck you no matter how much drag you got in them. You’ll get em next time

I caught a couple smaller jacks that day that I didn’t even put in the video, so yea I was whooped lol. And nah , I just try not too look at the worms when I’m cutting them up to fry haha

Not sure if Avet makes a left hand version of their reels but the LX G2’s or HXW series are powerhouse reels with a lot of drag.

@@CaptCollier I just meant it works for me. A very light trim on the tailfin causes them to swim ever so slightly different and stand out from the rest of the fish. They still kick and swim but it's just a little awkward and game fish notice.

I've caught all the big AJ:s I ever want to catch. 40-50 lb is a Beast, 90-110 lbs.. F that! Too old and smart for that now. but it's fun to watch you younger guys get abused by Reef Donkey's! Good job guys!

Far as im concerned they are top 3 pound for pound we catch. I dont know how many times a customer had said "can we catch a big fish"?? Well certainly and right to one of our 300ft wrecks we go and in the Keys the average is size large. The customer quickly realizes maybe they werent ready for a "big fish" 🤣🤣🤣 we call them Googan Killers in the Keys
