If you really wanna go deep into some Catfish tactics; try using a stinger fly done there with the livescope or make a (kinda) dropper loop rig with shad and the stinger fly at the bottom. Might be a new gamechanger for you!

I think you're far enough south where you're gonna want to be super vigilant about the tick bloom. We call them "seed ticks" in the spring, and you can wind up with hundreds of them the size of a pinhead on EVERYTHING. Invest in some permethrin.

You wanna keep the fish in the 5 to 15 lb range due to the amount of fat, toughness of the meat, and also mercury levels in the fish.
