Beautiful. This is not common,especially in urban,modern houses to have such wonderful gardens in Lagos,Nigeria. Instead of having a garden, they would rather have a swimming pool they don't swim in. More of this. ❤❤❤❤❤

I believe plants are the decoration of every home and courtyard. It so elegant and inviting to anyone who sees it. I grew up in Ghana and ai remembered how well our garden was kept and so many fruit trees I sent my time on eating away😅😅 You never brought fruits it was in the garden. Nigeria is no different! Emerald of West Africa should always look amazing 😍

Lovely garden! The art is so creative and the pieces transform the garden into a gallery. She’s really gifted. I absolutely love the garden watcher! Incidentally, running bamboo is much more invasive than clumpers. Fortunately, most of the tropical varieties seem to be clumpers. My goodness! Imagine if they were mostly runners! It would be like the castle in Sleeping Beauty!🤣

Hello Joan! Just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for your inspiring content. This garden is spectacular, thanks for giving us the tour. Your website is quite informative as well. I love plants and flowers as well. Can you recommend perennials (flowers please) I can plant in Kano. I have a nice collection of plants that are thriving as we speak. But I am thinking of venturing out and trying my luck on flowers, your advice would be much appreciated. Love the alocasia on your website. Great videos by the way❤

Agreed. Video was way too short! but fyi there are no plants or potions that repel snakes. They have nostrils and can simply hold their breathe if they do not like a smell.

Beautiful and inspiring. I just got into gardening and its a thrilling experience. I have a potted 3 foot fan palm in my veranda, mosttly shady. I am contemplating planting it in the ground where it will get full direct sun and possibly grow to its full potential. Will it thrive under the sun and heat in Abuja?
@plantsintropicalspaces33198 ай бұрын
Hmm... It depends on the type. I've seen some in the sun doing okay and others burning. I'd say leave in the pot while you try it out in the new spot. If it doesn't work, you can take it back.

Why not tell us how she made her compost
@plantsintropicalspaces33198 ай бұрын
Make compost with garden waste by allowing it decompose over time. Use bins or sacks to organise the materials or just pile them in a heap on the ground. Turning the materials will aerate it and hasten the process. In our weather, it will eventually breakdown within a year even if you do nothing. I tie grass clippings in black bin bags for 6 months until it’s broken down. I have an earlier video about composting. Please watch it.

Why are naija gardens filled with pots?? Why are things not in the ground
@plantsintropicalspaces33198 ай бұрын
You can plant big plants directly in the ground. It’s easier to move smaller plants when they are in pots. If you want a variety of plants, being able to move them around is necessary. You’ll need to place plants in the right places as the garden grows and matures.
@TeeCokes8 ай бұрын
She should dig up and destroy the bamboo plants before they distroy the walls and foundation of her home. Bamboo plants don't belong near houses.
