My favorite is Wukong, but Macacque. I just like what they've been doing with him. An evil mentor/copycat character getting to do MORE than one thing and dropped from the series. I just hope he gets a redemption arc or something. He is too interesting to just not do something more with.

Ironically, the episodes (In chinese I suppose) are circulating the web right now and from what I see from older comments, Macaque is only helping , LBD so she can free him? I don't know, could be wrong, but what are the chances I find this animatic and that turns out to be the case? Heh. Your art style is very good by the way. Also I'm a simple person, favorite character is Macaque hands down. Wukong is close second and then MK.

My three favorites is Red-son, The (so called) Mayor, and Mei I'll explain Red-son is the adorable, childish character that's used to either getting what he wants or defeat to the point where he's acting for what he wants. I find that adorable about him for some reason. Also his cockiness makes the animated expression so funny and lovable. The (again, so called) Mayor is the most UNHINGED AND NO CHILL CHARACTER THERE. THAT MAKES HIM AMAZING. Although I hate his loyalty to the LBD (lady bone demon) specifically, I still love his loyalty. AND HIS SMILES- he is honestly one of the best out of the 4 usually off-screen characters in the show. Mei is just like me. She annoys you and teases you any other day, but can choose to really help you emotionally if needed. She is also the best roll dog. The entire season(s) we saw Mei, Pigsy, Tang, Sun, and Sandy with MK. But it was mostly Mei and Sun that was ALWAYS there. Tell me i'm wrong. She's just the best fr. But in all seriousness out of all 3 is the under-rated Mayor. Then Red-son is my comfort character.

Just found this and it's amazing !! Even if it's not an actual scene that happened i could see that happening in any sort of comic or fanfiction. And to jump on the train at first i thought Wukong would be my favorite BUT after i spotted Macaque i started to sway and when Shadow Play hitted me i was already in love with his character both because of the amazing talent of his VA but also because of how i like how the show choose to show the original duality of the minds from the original manuscript of Journey to the West.

Been back a few times but never commented (I don't think). Gotta say, I love how Wukong cuts off the part where you expect him to say he cares and instead says he knows Mac is smarter. Especially love that Macaque's response is a mix of "you can't even say it" and "you can't be serious". As for a fave character. That's hard but that's cause it's a tie between all the monkey boys.

Honestly, I'll sound cliche, but like the character development and arc for Macaque is all I've ever wanted in a cartoon character. I also love how they make two enemies from journey to the west friends, for as who don't know, the Six Eared Macaque is the Macaque king aka Great Sage of the winds. I'm so glad I am reading the actual book.
