Very nice video, love the inbetween layer. Im a cfii in AZ now and miss getting into the soup. but being inbetween the valleys and having the scenery is nice also..Keep up the good work, cant wait till i get my opportunity to fly corporate.
@captmoonbeam8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Will do. Arizona is a great place to learn how to fly. But when you're ready to fly in the soup it's hard to find.

captmoonbeam was wondering. The pilot said "turn east" after atc said 090. Is this acceptable verbiage? Would think that it's not standard.

why do you always end it when you land I would love to see you taxi to the ramp
@captmoonbeam9 жыл бұрын
+Bobby Hurst two reasons. My viewer retention drops to almost zero at that point and I've been editing the video for so long I'm looking for a place to end it so I can call it a night. But, you're not the first to say something so I'm thinking I should do more videos that end at the ramp. Thanks Bobby.

Your best fuel economy is with the lowest Prop RPM that is allowed in the cruise section of the POH. The lower prop RPM gives the fuel more time to burn. What else will help fuel economy? An aft CG. The benefits of an aft cg is a slightly higher cruise speed...for your selected power setting. An aft CG will also give you a slightly lower stall speed.

Sorry guys stupid question. Can you put Rain-X on the windshield to repel water better?
@captmoonbeam9 жыл бұрын
+Benny A there are special products made for aircraft windshields that repel water. The windshield is a made of Plexiglas so it has to be something that won't damage the windshield.
@skylane18299 жыл бұрын
Sounds good thanks for the info. Did not know that. Love the aviation community they are all cool people. I don't fly, too old for that but, I love everything that flies. Who knows, maybe I'll buy a small plane to learn and cruise around too. Thanks.
@pplir20009 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, Would you have made this flight if you didn't have a way of looking at the enroute weather through the G1000 avionics? We don't have the luxury of Nexrad in Europe, so it is all guesswork for us.
@captmoonbeam9 жыл бұрын
+pplir2000 We checked radar right before we left and it looked like our only real issue was rain. We would be clear in 15 to 20 minutes and would be able to stay on the north side of the weather. I would have waited till later in the day without the nexrad. I didn't know that. it's a fantastic tool for weather avoidance.

Nice video. I see why a pilot about that time remarked that he was worried about the river, it is amazing how different the landscape looks when you are actually above it. I need to get up in the air more, instead of just telling you guys where to go.
