The Kong they had years ago was so much better. They had a huge Kong that would grab at the vehicle you were in and there was a lot more movement and action.

I love Attraction Ideas but whatever they build as an expansion to Diagon is going where Fear Factor is. They already have the Attraction Entrance built just to the left of the Hopping Pot, and the portion of that land they could build on is actually really big. to put into perspective of just how big the buildable area is where the theater sits... Its the same size as the Entire area the Haunted Mansion Sits on. Its the same size as the building that house Flight of Passage and Navi River Journey Its the Same Size as Big Thunder Mountain Its 1.5x the size of The Cosmic Rewind Gravity Building You get the point... a very large attraction can fit there and that's taking out the current guest pathways and current back stage areas.

I love the idea of a Wizarding Boat ride, and I think a fantastic concept would be "Globus Mundi". They already have a Wizarding Travel Agency in the Carkitt Market section of Diagon Alley, and if you wanted to see places from the movies (and maybe some places we didn't get to see, yet), then taking an enchanted boat through Portals to all of these places seems a workable conceit. A cool, refreshing, all-ages Harry Potter ride would be fantastic.

Going back to the bit on the HP dark ride scene with going over the lake. There is a giant squid who is mentioned multiple times in the books that they could incorporate. He even rescues a student who falls out of the boat (Dennis Creevy). He interacts with the students at multiple times during the books.

I will also say that the VR Broomstick ride was a terrible idea but a Flying Theater like Flight of Passage with multiple different outcomes on a broomstick could be pretty cool.

I agree. They could make it like/similar to the Avatar ride with it being really immersive with movement and things happening to you, they could make it fabulous.

It would have been a massive capacity nightmare. Also it's a very limited audience as there are quite a few people who get motion sickness in VR, even if they're fine on other screen based attractions. There's also a sanitation issue where they'd have to either clean the headsets between guests or develop some kind of removable headset and each guest gets a clean version or something. All in all it just wouldn't have worked out very well.

When I saw the Attraction Ideas video I instantly agreed and appreciated his true out-of-the-box thinking about a water ride and all ages. I appreciate the near realistic Diagon alley - take that to a "Great Movie Ride" level for Potter Movies. Maybe even rip Disney off and have teammembers narrating on each boat (also homage to Jaws ride)

It’s a roller coaster. There are plenty of people, (my whole family, both my best friends… so pretty much anyone I would be going to the Parks with), that won’t get on a roller coaster, no matter how “mild.” It’s actually why my family mostly goes to Disney - because there are so many more non-thrill rides we can enjoy. But we all love Harry Potter. We would all LOVE to see an omnimover or boat ride added, in the style of Haunted Mansion or Pirates, because right now, when we do go to Universal to see the HP lands, we cannot ride anything… we just walk around using our interactive wands and shopping. Oh, and I guess ride that train between the two HP areas, which is nice, but that train is more comparable to the Monorail (transport between parks) than it is a ride.

Honestly, Attraction Ideas is spot on. If you go back and watch some of his theories and predictions, it's kinda amazing how much he's gets right or gets really close. But when he does get something wrong, he's as far off as anyone could get. Which is actually rare for him.

A LOTR expansion I feel like would be deployed in the UK first before it would be deployed in the US. Similar to what they did for Nintendo in Japan. That said, there is certainly a draw for it. If you've heard anything about Lego, their recent LOTR lego sets have been selling like hotcakes every time they are debuted. If they do it right, I could see it having the same draw as HP. I could also see them splitting the areas up. You could put Hobbiton in one park, Rivendell in another, and then Gondor, Mordor, Lonely Mountain, etc in Epic Universe. It could also follow the landscape distance in some aspects if they kept Hobbiton/Rivendell close together and the farther areas on the map in Epic Universe. There is also a lot of material for ride design.

Fear Factor is a capacity manager during HHN. I saw the show twice last season and it was always packed to the rafters. Without that show, the already unmanageable lines for houses and food will be even worse.

I’d have to agree with the sentiment that the Harry Potter expansion still needs to go in the Fear Factor area, I hope they gut the building for Supercharged (probably take most of it over for the RRR replacement) & put a world class dark ride there that’s still loosely fits to the SF esthetic… Maybe Twisters, maybe Monster-verse Godzilla, or something else entirely but not Harry Potter in that space

Everyone is looking right of DIagon Alley, but if F&F gets replaced with a new coaster they could go left and expand that way. The only issue is it eats into San Francisco but there's really nothing in that area anyways and I don't see any attraction going in SF anytime soon. I agree with the E-Ticket thing. So many people think a new ride sucks because it's not some amazing E-Ticket attraction. No park will ever have a full park of e-ticket attractions. IDC if it's Universal, Disney, or any other park. It's actually frustrating and I think Universal had 2 major E-Ticket attractions in Hagrid's and then VelociCoaster and now everyone expects all new attractions to be on that level.

I love Diagon Alley and Escape from Gringotts. The extent they went to with how it looks is fabulous. I also enjoy immensely the Forbidden Journey I wish both rides were longer. I am not a big roller coasters lover and enjoy rides that are themed. I hope Universal gives us more themed rides of Harry Potter and any other story they want to do. I know people live Hagrid’s but it’s just so so for me and not on the same depth of Forbidden Journey and Escape From Gringotts. They could still do a broom ride and do it like the Avatar ride at Disney where you are riding one of the dragons or whatever they call them. That would be great to make very immersive and they have ways to do it. Make it big enough to accommodate a lot of people at once so the wait wouldn’t be so long. I hope they don’t go big on all the game stuff like Mario and Pokémon which isn’t near as neat as Diagon Alley, Men In Black, Simpsons and Hogwarts Castle Forbidden Journey. We enjoy the Hogwarts express too and it is themed great.

Gotta disagree halfway. Popeye is surprisingly popular among international tourists, and Universal/King Features could (but won’t) load all the comic strips into a free online form for people to rediscover. For now, at least the land keeps the art form alive. Too bad Uni can’t get the rights to Peanuts in the United States. The entire Kid’s Wonderland in Japan is great, Apple TV has made Snoopy relevant among young American kids again, and Snoopy is still hugely popular internationally.

They want to have a more kid/teen/young adult centered land there so I think SpongeBob is the most likely replacement for toon lagoon. I also think a Scooby doo land with spooky island would be fun. I think LotR would have gone in that epic universe expansion plot next to MoM and Berk but now with the success of Wicked I am starting to think that would be the relevant land replacement with a massive ride through oz and a show featuring music from the show.

I don't think Pokémon is coming to Universal Studios. Because somewhere in the contract, i think they stated that any nintendo property must be build next to the other nintendo properties. So it be a big nintondo land with multiple tunes to take you into a different land.

As much as I yourn for pokemon / Zelda to come to Florida, I feel like it would bug me that it wouldn’t be in the Super Nintendo land. Pokemon is Nintendo’s biggest franchise and it being in Super Nintendo land would make epic universe incredibly fantastic. Yes I agree. Simpsons took over Back To The Future which was fun and fantastic. At least Simpsons gives you the same feelings that BTTF did which makes some people sick but not me so give me more. I hate to see Simpsons leave and I don’t care about the Nintendo and stuff (yes I know I am in the minority) but I like more immersive things from the movies or a series. I enjoy Men In Black too because it gets you so involved.

They should actually remove Fallon. Put in Ghostbusters in simulator form and put AR glasses on everyone. It could be cool. I'm still curious what Rip Ride is going to be replaced with and it's theme. With the entrance to whatever the replacement is being moved back there, I'm curious what is coming. Diagon Alley does need an expansion and Fear Factor is prime real estate, perfect for an expansion. Simpsons,MIB and animal Actors needs to be rethemed. It's just stale.

I doubt that will happen, the first book came out in 1997 and the books have sold more than 600 million copies. It has been passed down to a couple generations already. It’s always going to be a popular story and to be able to step into areas that look like the books describe them is always going to be a big draw for decades and beyond.

@ Even though it’s still Harry Potter it isn’t like the other two areas at all so it will be insanely popular. I enjoy Harry Potter and the movies are pretty close to the books so without the books no movies. I don’t care for the Mario Brothers stuff but I understand a lot of other people do so it can still be a fun experience. Harry Potter has shown it is being passed down from one generation to the next with each enjoying it because it isn’t something that will go out and not be relatable. Every kid and lots of adults dream of having special magical powers which is why it has such an appeal. Use that along with actual places you can see put in some wild creatures, good guys and bad guys and it’s appeal will never be lost. The Wizarding World is what brought Universal into the major park group. People will always want more and I can’t wait to see the new area in Epic.

Thankfully I think HP has secured itself amongst the classic films like BTTF, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, etc. A franchise that will last another 50+ years. I mean hell if anything the universal monsters would be more worrying about relevance but they’ve already lasted 100+ years.
