My great-grandfather got a bunch of shrapnel in his back at Resaca, and he was shipped home to recover. He came back for the Battle of Nashville. He died at 47, when the shrapnel moved into his heart.

Visited July 2020. Owner of red brick house ran me off. Said Battlefield Trust lost the protected status back in Jan 2020. . Now I know he was lying. So I will be back. Got within 50 yards of it at least. Parked same spot fellows were located.

Van Den Korput's Battery also left behind their battle flag which was captured. It is now held by the American Civil War Museum in Richmond.

Phillip L. Secrist has a book "The battle of Resaca". The front cover is from a painting by a man names Kurtz . It shows the guns unmaned with Confedarate infantry on alert for another yankee charge. Looks like a good field had been cleared.

I really appreciate these videos. This isn't related to the video but I live just south of Cincinnati, around Florence Kentucky, now I know we have civil war history here, I think Florence is the most northern point that the Confederates made on its probe of Cincinnati in 1862, and I live 3 miles from Skirmish at Snows Pond. Now what I was wondering is, the battle of Cynthiana Kentucky, i know there were two battles but I can't find maps but I want to find that battlefield. Morgan really Blundered the second battle. I wish we could find out more about our little battlefield. No one around here seems to care or know where it's at and I been trying to map it.

Who agrees with this? In many ways the Battle of Resaca is a Federal Victory

For the most part, the video on Picketts Mill - New Hope - Dallas was just excellent. But why not spend just a little bit of time talking about the Battle of Dallas, rather than just mentioning it? Maybe because historically it seems to have been difficult to dig out the facts of that battle, and so it is most often given short shrift. But really good job. I learned a lot.

I was a fan of Gary until I saw him on the Addressing Gettysburg podcast. He has some complaints about viewers of the videos.
