Criminally under viewed, this is a fantastic setup from a guy who practices what he preaches.

Haha thank you! This video also serves as a commentary on the mental state of a human after 4 months of car camping lol!

My favorite sleeping spot was in Madera Canyon, Arizona, south of Tucson. The weather was perfect. Colorado was a bit chilly in late April as I got snowed on. I am going to check out the water pump and the shower you showed. I also used up way too much storage space by bring enough food for a 2 month Amazon expedition. Thanks for the tips.

Haha thanks for watching! My goal is that with every trip I take I take about 10% less stuff than I took the last time... In time I should perfect my setup.

I live in California in the Eastern Sierra. I love it here. I’m halfway between Yosemite and Death Valley. So many places to camp all along the Sierra

I’m just getting back into camping and so far have only camped in my home state of Missouri. But I want to go to Colorado and Utah. This video was really informative and I really appreciated you walking through how you have your Subaru and all your car camping set up. I also am planning to get a 4Runner later this year to take my adventures to the next level. I am also planning to visit Moore Expo 2024 in Springfield, MO later in April, and hope CartoCamp will be there, I am really interested in your platform. Thanks again!

Glad you found this video informative! Have fun at MOORE! We won't be at that show this year - but I'm sure it will be great time!

KY is the best, lots of beautiful lakes, rivers, and more natural arches than any other state than AZ

Kentucky, that's awesome! That is one of the states (along with Arkansas and Tennessee) that I haven't gotten to go camping in yet so I'm very curious about them!

Powdered milk bro! They have small and large bags of low and full fat at walmart. Small bag makes 32 liters

Haha I used to use powdered milk. On my first long road trip a few years ago I carried a lot of powdered milk and powdered eggs with me. I never got into the powdered milk but oddly I did like the powdered eggs.

That's awesome! New England is the area of this country I've explored the least, which is so weird because I live in Pennsylvania. I look forward to the day I make some videos from New England/Maine!

Do you have window covers on all of your windows for safety and privacy?
@cartocamp3 ай бұрын
I don't have them on all my windows. Some people do for enhanced privacy and I think that's a good idea.

How large of a Jackery do you have?
@cartocamp3 ай бұрын
I have both the 120 and the 240. If I were to do it over again I would buy one of the ~$500 ones and just carry one battery instead of too.

Washington is a good place

Washington has so much camping to offer that I haven't uncovered yet, but from what I have seen of it so far it's absolutely amazing! Do you have any recommendations?

Do you sleep in the car with it completely shut up, windows and all, or do you leave a window cracked?
@cartocampАй бұрын
I leave the windows cracked by about 4 inches when I sleep. This is why I use mesh window screens to let the air flow in but keep the bugs out.

What do you have on the windows to block light?
@cartocampАй бұрын
I have these on my windows cartocamp.com/products/mesh-window-screens They do an ok job at blocking light, but I use them more for keeping the bugs out when I roll the window down to get airflow.
