I have been in the car trade for over 35 years and things are very different now with the internet and online reviews. In my opinion the only place you went wrong with this one was you should have refunded them the money they paid towards the engine repairs. You have gone on to make a decent profit on the Jeep but in this instance a smaller profit and customers not left out of pocket would have been a better long term strategy as word of mouth in a small town is the best form of advertising. I am not saying you did anything wrong but some you win and some you lose. You would still have won on this one the girl wouldn't have been out of pocket. I think that would have been a better resolution.

It is refreshing to see an honest Used Car dealer. I hate getting into numbers, but I would feel safe to wager that a majority of Used Car dealerships would have said no warranty, bye bye. Seriously though, a person buys a Jeep with 130k or so miles on it, there cannot be any expectation that it is in as new condition, 130k miles is 130k miles, a reasonable person should expect that there could be issues with the car. Another key is if aftermarket warranties are available for a used car. If not, buyer beware, on your head. If you want an as new car, buy a car with 10-30k miles on it and pay double.

@@dizk5283how can the carfax be clean if the accident was reported to insurance? I know it’s not a salvage car. But any time I ever traded in a car that was in an accident, the dealer would always offer less because of the accident showing on carfax

Jeep prices went up since he first sold it. New buyer is getting a deal for a jeep that has some damage history
@mongo64071 Жыл бұрын
@@createachanneltopostso that means Craig sold it at a discount considering prices went up. If he could have gotten more, why didn’t he? Perhaps because it was damaged?
