Great crew this week Joe. Rob should be a permanent fixture. All businesses are aches and pains, but the good times out weigh them. Keep them coming 💪👍

Dave's got his strategy right. Check your previous accounts, make a change, try it for a year, compare the difference. Only react quickly to save your business, react slowly when trying to grow it. Stick with it, as viewers we genuinely care and want you all to do well

Renting houses is nightmare Joe. You think car buyers are a pain, tenants can be another level!
@propertydevelopmentlive12232 күн бұрын
I would agree. We have been in the property industry for over 30 years as a landlord and property developer. We always had a 60% commercial and 40% residential portfolio. As times started to change. We sold off most of the residential units and focused on developments and commercial property.

You've got to vet the tenants yourself chops. I've been in rental game for 20 years and my parents even longer with upto 15 properties. Only ever had 1 bad tenant because we vet them

A lot of brand new cars are a real pain to prep & valet because the stickers leave marks & depending where they’re made dictates the amount of fallout. Good show covering all sorts.

Great podcast once again guys. You had to have a Rolex to be taken seriously at our local BCA. The most successful car dealers I know either stayed small with everything owned outright and just a valeter. Or went big. Stocking loans up to their eyeballs and 200+ cars in stock. Seems like you have to go one way or the other. However I’m firmly stuck in the middle 😂

I wouldn't go the selling from home route, people just won't pay a forecourt price.

Being successful in a business that you put all your focus and attention in to is not that difficult. The problem most people have is focusing on one thing for long periods of time.
@propertydevelopmentlive12232 күн бұрын
Perhaps Joe could think about giving up the car business and focusing on the KZbin channel. He and his cameraman could go around the country filming other car dealer/retailer and interview them. He could also run his dealer talks every week.

hello mate, Love your content and the energy you're putting into building the channels and your business. Quick question, wonder if you know the answer? What happens if you sell a car to someone and you give them the V5C2 new keeper reference, they tax it but then change their mind and ask for a refund which I've done. Can I still use the same V5C to sell it to the next customer or do I need to get a new one from the DVLA?
@roystonvehicles91292 күн бұрын
Usually you can tax it a couple of times on the v52/c, try a dry run online to see if it will go thru, problem is for the customer they'll have a job getting their money back, I had similar last year and had to do a letter for customer to dvla, or if it's DD dvla don't like it if DD is stopped, they like to charge for that mth, hope this helps.

I think it’s unlikely you can make more money in other businesses as easily as you assume. Plumbing can’t scale up easily and as an Architect I can assure work has dried cup 90% in the slow down and with higher interest rates. Other industries too. Splitting your time and losing management or leadership focus ensures business failure as staff look for leadership and endorsement. It’s a fact of business life. Certainly one of you needs to look at the overhead costs per car sold. If money was made selling cars as cheapies then something isn’t right with the business set up as it’s grown. Though it’ll never be as efficient and profitable of course. The video on the cost/profit of the jag recently seems to miss basic business overhead costs I think.. rental, staff admin, sales office maintenance etc. that could be £500 per car?

rob half of the 20 billion shortfall is the above inflation pay rises that labour has given to public sector workers and the crazy rise they gave to the already well paid train drivers. the sad thing is they wont disclose how the rest of the shortfall is made up
