This problem happened to my car today! Came home from work, put on my pajamas, got comfy then wondered what it was going to cost me to fix it… then I find you on KZbin. I got dressed, drove into town and picked up the parts at Auto Zone. I replaced them both while the kid from the store held my hatch up! So proud of 72 year old self! Thaaaaank Youuuuuu!

I thought that it might be a hard job but after you explained it, I went straight to the parts store and bought those two pieces. It only took me a little over five minutes to pop those things off and pop them on. My sister was so surprised. Thank you very much. Stay cool now!😎

Finally got around to fixing this🤦🏾‍♀️. Times myself and from opening package to closing lift 2:38.49. I’m pretty proud of myself LoL Thanks again 😊

On the new strut, don't pry the clip just apply pressure and it will snap on, also do a pull check to ensure they are on properly

The right strut on my 2013 Honda pilot. Looks like some type of a liquid has leaked out of it onto the car. I am having that same problem of the rear hatch opening to the top beeping and then going down. Yes, when I try to open it manually it also won't stay up like you showing the video. I'm wondering if I need to buy two new struts or just the one that shows the leakage?

"LIFT SUPPORTS" for my 2004 PT Cruiser cost about $35.00 each ($70.00 for both ) and I have replaced them twice and I have the same problem within three years . I live in Florida and it seems that our hot summers deteriorate the insides of the "lift supports" making them useless once again . I think that they must be "MADE IN CHINA" because China does not make quality parts . I have resolved to buy a $10.00 walking cane and extend it to its maximum length to be used as a support when I need to open the trunk hatch . I once bought a four way lug wrench that said "MADE IN CHINA" and I broke it trying to loosen a "frozen" lug nut . I went to many parts places to find one that was NOT "MADE IN CHINA" and I found one made in either Taiwan or South Korea and when I used it on a "frozen" lug nut , it did not break on me . I AM NOT A FAN OF "MADE IN CHINA" PARTS !!! They are usually JUNK !!!
