Tip - In the summer months when public pools are open is another option to shower on the cheap. In my town you can go to the pool for $2 and they have showers and bathrooms. Thanks for being a teacher. Those kiddos are going to enjoy hearing about your adventures this summer.

I sometimes think of vehicle living and car camping as a kind of exposure therapy, as you're kind of forced to step out of your comfort zone and interact with and engage with society. I'm an introvert too and have found that when I do stay in my vehicle it has pushed me to do things I might not have done before. Hope you had a wonderful time back home with the fam 😊 And hope you weekend has been great so far 💚

Do you think you will take advantage of the item your car has that you cousin's first car didn't? The roof rack if you were to acquire a carrier you could put things like a tent and your folding chair in it. Things that are taking up valuable space inside and wouldn't hurt if they were out of the way.. Good luck on your journeys

When I did this many years ago there was no internet and no cell phones. I found myself talking to anyone that would talk to anybody I met on the road. really just out of boredom. I met people all the time. I was also somewhat introverted. But the road really loosened me up. If you went without social media for a few days I bet you would find yourself talking to anyone that will listen.

Sarah, little off topic on your RAV4. Forget whatever the manual says on oil changes. It uses a type of piston ring that hates extended oil changes. Do changes at 5000 miles, less is fine, but absolutely no further. Repairs get very expensive.

Now that you’ve been on the road for a bit. Do you feel as though you’ve gotten accustomed to living this traveling lifestyle. I know you’ve had previous experience with your cousin, but now you’re on your own, and your knee deep in it. Is there something you wish you had, that you don’t currently, but is something that you’ll get in the future? Having at one time been an college adjunct instructor, you might want to keep a journal of the stories of your travels that aren’t on your videos. Find a way to maintain your academic scholarship level while you assimilate to being on road.
