On your emergency window break hammer, there's also an indent on the handle, that has a purpose!! It will cut a seat belt, this can be done in emergency situations as well. Think of it like an letter opener. You basically slide the seat belt into that little slit, and it will cut the belt. I just thought you might want to know that, as well as your subscribers and viewers. :)
@sarahmarie29117 жыл бұрын
Also, the head rests are made to come all the way out on purpose so you can use the metal to break your window! I've always wondered why they come out & thought it was just so you can take your car seat fabric off to wash it lol, then one day I read that is why they come off!! I had no idea & I wondered how many other people don't know about this!!

Alejandra, Just a couple of other suggestions, my husband and I always keep one moving blanket inside each car because are inexpensive considering the size and padding.(harbor freight has them cheep). Also we put a medium sized laundry basket in our trunk when we go grocery shopping, place most of the bags inside. Then take the basket inside instead of taking several trips out for bags. Thanks for your tips!

+Alison Casey I know! I got this tip from someone else & I am trying to share it. I live in a condo community and there are some areas that you need to walk quite a distance before you get to your car or garage (we have detached garages) so it saves quite a bit of walking!

The only thing I keep in my car is a wig in the glove box for those mornings when I totally oversleep and have to try to throw myself together in 30 seconds and run out the door. Rather that driving through the carpool lane to drop the kids off looking like the crypt keeper and scaring off little children and parents alike with my hair an unholy mess, I throw on the wig and a huge pair of sunglasses along with a full length fur coat over my nightgown and I look red carpet ready (as look as you are looking from a far distance) to drop off the kiddos. I would strongly recommend it for all those chronic over-snoozers out there! Its a godsend!!

@reachtrita8 жыл бұрын
+Lisa Vega So true! Killing animals just to take their body parts for our own pleasure is so wrong! Everyone should check out Farm to Fridge on KZbin, animals suffer violent deaths because people want to use their bodies which is unnecessary. Nowadays, there is a vegan/non-animal alternative for EVERYTHING!
@blancaw62808 жыл бұрын
tritawan ruttivut Yes the fur is faux. I hope you have NEVER eaten a steak, worn a pair of leather shoes or owned a leather pocketbook at any point in your life. Otherwise according to your theory that would make you a cold blooded killer! By the way the wig is real HUMAN hair! Panic!!
@lvega56068 жыл бұрын
Blanca W No need to be disrespectful, Ma'am. Incidentally, no, I do not eat steak or wear leather because that would be killing another living being. You sound very defensive. It's known that people get defensive when they feel guilty about the choices they make. I hope you get that sorted out.

A needle- I’ve used mine twice to remove splinters in my husband’s hand and my daughter’s hand. Learned that one from my dad. 1970’s and the man had a needle and thread in a tiny leather pouch in the glovebox. I was about 8 and got a splinter at the park- I was SO impressed that he was that prepared. Also- miniature scissors have come in handy several times. And tweezers. I love over-preparedness. But- I was at the park with my son when he was in elementary school with his class and all the moms. My son got stung by a bee- and I was the only mom out of about 15 who had a first aid kit. Being mildly OCD has its moments😉.

Thanks for sharing; great tips. I have a head flash light and this is great for working with your hands free. I also carry a winter pack in my car that has a wool blanket and a military water proof poncho, and an orange thermo suit with boots, and sneakers; just incase. If you find yourself having to walk out of were you are located; the police and planes can see you better and these are really warm for that long hike. I would suggest putting a sign on the top of your car and staying with your car if possible. Check online on how to use your car seats and rubber to insulate yourself with a candle and blanket. If you need to make a signal fire you can make a fire and use the rubber mats to make black smoke to get someones attention. I used to travel on roads that if I would have left the road; no one would have been able to find me. So I talked to rescue and other survival personel to find out how to walk out and how to survive. Duck tape is a must for your car. This can be used to seal a hose and a multitude of other applications. I also use triangle flasher because they work and don't require batteries. I am a new subscriber and enjoying your videos. Do you have a video on speed cleaning; and your homemade cleaners; Thanks, Bekki.

I am very organized and if anyone has kids, they will be raised in an orderly environment. Being organized helps to avoid most of the stress. An organized person will not loose things or can't find things. Most of the time she will know where her things are and if she sends someone else to get something she can tell them exactly where they are. Being organized helps reduce stress and waste. Some of the ideas I really liked like the net while u open the trunk or boot space ... helps a lot to stop popping out things while you open or even at malls when they check your car for security purpose. 👍🏻 Nicely organised overall .. can say a complete organised necessity items for long drives or for a long day .. most satisfying to know you don't use plastic water bottles which is a thumbs up 👍🏻.. absolutely rightly advised. Plastic bottles are harmful .. very true !

I also keep a gallon water bottle, doesn't have to be a full one. it's in case I need to wash my hands or face after a hike/gym or if I got dirty or sticky. Also maybe a tiny size liquid soap? I also keep a pack of tissue box (dollar store or Walmart) open and accessible on the passenger floor because I need it to use while driving and don't have time to mess around. I'm wondering about the cliff bars, I live in California and it gets 115 in summer, so in the car the cliff bar can melt? Do you listen to music while driving? Do you keep cd's in the car? or mp3? I Also keep cheap tweezer, you be surprise of facial/chin hair you can notice while driving and looking in the mirror in direct sun light. (that I've missed seeing in the bathroom light). Also I "hide" some money for when I see stuff at garage sale (small bills). ok, have a great day and I love your videos! you are awesome and beautiful! xoxo! KEREN.

+Home Organizing by Alejandra.tv - Thumbs up. I am going to share this video. I like your Life Hammer (easy access). The cosmetic bag's a great ideas as well. It keeps items from rolling around in the center console. I am left handed as well. I would like to know more about the pens you use as a left hander. I like that you have a lot of "prepper" gear to take car of you and any people in your vehicle. It's good to see a woman prepared for emergencies. You have a lot of great tips, concepts, and ideas for organizing and staying safe for an emergency.

Another great tip. I do this for my vehicle because I have a truck. I use small tote boxes under my back seats. They have latch lids and a handle. I use these to store cleaning supplies that or just for my truck and I also store extra clothes just in case. The totes I have are small enough to store about four of them under the back seat. I label them and it keeps everything in one place and organized. I also have one strictly for feminine products for those unpredictable days because I tend to forget to bring some when I'm at work and can't leave to run to the store. These can also be great for keeping towels and raincoats handy for those extreme rainy days where an umbrella just won't do.

Friend of mine showed me this vid. I almost died of laughter. I lost it when Ale broke down the make and model of her favorite pen. Because everyone is gonna rush out to their local dollar store to have the EXACT same kind safely and securely placed in the arm seat compartment in case of an emergency. This is so incredibly over the top! I just can't! XD

Well, a fellow left hander might. Especially ones like myself that write with their left hand curved upside down so that you're dragging your hand down through the freshly laid ink like a dumbass 😕

Thanks for sharing this great video. I have most of those items on my car but I also carry other essential items because I drive a lot away from home. I've gone through a lot with my previous car and I am now over prepared because I don't have help. It's important to check your car often and to take it for it's regular maintenance check ups by a professional. I have 1 gallon on extra water just in case my car needs water, hand sanitizer, all of my car fluids, car jack, my personalize car maintenance guide, small tool box, funnels, work light, cross-shaft wrench, and most important my portable power inverter that has 6 in 1 (jumper starter, AC/DC charger, tire inflator, flash light) which it has saved me from many problems.

Love your videos! But always store batteries with the positive and negative terminals away from each other. If batteries are stored with positive and negative terminals touching, they may begin conducting electricity idly, which will discharge them.
@AlitraJames9 жыл бұрын
+Megan Shung Smith I did not know that. Cool advice.
@Patriot48347 жыл бұрын
Megan, so you could store the batteries inside of the flashlight, but just in the direction you've indicated?
@MeganShung7 жыл бұрын
Yes, but I don't think that'll fit very well since the flashlight isn't designed to hold the batteries backward.

Hey great vid. You should be VERY CAREFUL about keeping all that personal info in your car. Here in British Columbia, you can cut out or black out your personal info from your insurance and registration. You must leave the VIN, licence plate etc. But eliminate name, address, etc can be eliminated (obviously you must keep your licence intact. You may want to check out your local rules and regs about personal info stored in a car. Not to sound creepy or crazy, and please take this in the heartfelt purpose it is given - I've watched some of your videos and know where you live (general city/neighbourhood), the names of your partner and pets (including what they look like), that you drive a 2015(ish) silver Subaru, your pet's health issue, and that you moved into a new home Jan 1/16. Most of that is just from THIS VIDEO!! I just wanted to pass along this info because of what has happened to several high profile social media professionals in recent months and I've appreciated your videos and tips for several years.

Glad to see you keeping most of your items in compartments. Remember people; when the car comes to a sudden stop, unsecured objects inside the car will continue moving at the same speed. Everyday harmless objects can quickly turn into deadly projectiles when their weight increases about 50 times. There’s people who have been killed by their own groceries in crashes that otherwise is considered non-fatal. This also applies to people without seat belts and unsecured dogs. If a crash occurs at 50 kilometers per hour (around 32 miles per hour), an eight kilogram dog (approximately 18 pounds) can strike front seat passengers with a weight of up to 400 kilograms (approximately 882 pounds) If you double that speed, the amount of kinetic energy quadruples, making the same dog around 1600 kilograms (approximately 3528 pounds) Needless to say, your body is not built to survive impacts like that…

I would like to add an extra tip, similar to someone's idea of keeping a laundry basket to make carrying groceries easier. (what a great idea!) What I like to do is keep a SMALL, Dollar Tree sized cooler in our trunk, to prevent cold items from turning warm before we can get it home from the grocery store.

I think it's really important to make safety a priority. That heavy organizer could be a hazard in the case of a wreck. Does your vehicle have an option for a cover for the trunk areas that rolls/slides up? Any time I am driving with something heavy like cans of paint or new tools I try to remember to cover it. I hope I don't roll my car, but if it happens I don't want injuries from heavy items flying around.

There is only one thing I can think of that you forgot: a gallon of water in case your care overheats, etc. (You definitely don't want to use your expensive water for that!) Great video!
