Last week in Cape Town - Long St I think someone was jamming the signal from my remote. Fortunately I went back to the car to lock it manually. Oddly enough as soon as I locked manually the remote started working again. Watch out folks!

I at many times experienced this, where my vehicle didn't want to lock at certain shopping malls... I am no fan of locking the car with just the key, and also thought it was the batteries, but what didn't make sense was it works well in other areas... so i did the Following. Put the remote under the Arch of the front left wheel, or right. no way they can jam it then. the signal should be strong enough in my opinion to make direct contact with the system. Works every-time for me. Stay awake and take notice of people...when you think you didn't lock go Check!!!

foreign cars being targeted is very true. we were in KZN over the new year, and being from Limpopo our number plate is L. Lots and lots of inquisitive eyes on our new Polo Hatch everytime we stopped at a place, especially suspicious "car guards" offering to watch it for us.

This very same car with the exact registration followed my family and I on the road from Breyten to Ermelo, Mpumalanga at speeds of over 220km/h after attempting to cut us off at a junction and utilising aggressive overtaking manoeuvres to slow us down. Once we reached the town of Ermelo we fortunately managed to avoid them.

I understand you had securities on standby in your shop, but what would you have done if they managed to steal something from the car park (SAPS on standby)? When "Buttons" was pressing the button next to the red car, was it meant to force unlock the red car or they were trying to block signals for the other cars not to be locked so they can go steal from them?
