I'm autistic. I was in a car seat up to the age of 10 in the 90's. I enjoyed it back then because it was easy to fall asleep in. If I remember correctly my grandparent's explained it had something to do with the weight limit of the child for the need of the car seat. I also did the same thing as Braylee when switched to the booster seat as for buckling & unbuckling the seat. Just like her I was also switched back to a regular car seat for a while. 👍

Yeah she really is petite! I know sometimes it’s hard to tell in videos. She is about 44lbs and 3ft10in last time she had a doctors appointment in May. Which puts her around 9th-11th percentile (don’t remember which was height and which was weight) but she stays on her own growth curve. I don’t think she’s been even in the 20th percentile since infancy and I think that was the highest she’s been. Love our tiny but mighty girl 😁

Please read the manual!! There is a panel that goes up and the seatbelt for the car goes through that you have to push down to lock the seatbelt in. My monster of a 10 year old just outgrew his harness in this seat. I've had it since they first came out 7 years ago. Also you need to have the top LATCH tether attached with these seats, as it's required by Britax to have the higher weight limit.
@TheWeeFamily4 жыл бұрын
We did read the manual and double checked afterward 👍🏻 thanks for the heads up

@@TheWeeFamily Gotta keep these kiddos safe! They are the easiest car seat to install once you get the hang of it. We got it when it just came out for my son who has autism. It got him from age 3-10 in a harness. He just hit 90lbs and almost outgrown the harness by height. He loved the pressure from the harness so we just left him till we couldn't any longer. We got the clip for the normal seat belt that goes where the crotch buckle goes. You slip the lap belt part into it to prevent them from sliding under that part.
@TheWeeFamily4 жыл бұрын
Being that Braylee is so petite, I see her being able to stay in this seat into nearly adulthood or really the lifespan of the seat. 😂 we have every intention to keep her harnessed as long as possible. We were watching crash test videos and man harnesses are SO much safer!! Braylee loves that pressure too so I imagine we will have to find something similar for her when the time comes!

Also I love those click tight car seats, it looked as if you put the seat belt below the car seat fabric and didn’t do the click tight method. Did you know the seat actually lifts and you put seatbelt through and the seat tightens the seatbelt itself? I love it. It may have been edited out, just wanted to let you know since I own this seat as well, there’s def a trial and error to getting used to unclicking the bottom of seat but it’s nice not to have to tightened them belt

im so glad B is comfy and safe! i HATED the transition from car seat to booster, then booster to nothing. readjusting to where the seatbelt sits on you is really hard for me, it took SO long for me to get used to it rubbing on my neck. now i can only sit on the passenger side of the car bc i cant handle the seatbelt on the other side... im gonna have to get one of those cusion/wrap things to go on my seatbelt if i ever start driving lol
@TheWeeFamily4 жыл бұрын
Knowing how much she likes pressure and feeling “secure” I’m sure it was an odd feeling sensory wise. It’s just better for her this way. That makes total sense, they can definitely rub in uncomfortable ways and where they sit on you isn’t always comfortable. I myself am short and sometimes even on the lowest setting it hits me kind of high up. A cushion for the belt is a good idea!
@somedude1724 жыл бұрын
@@TheWeeFamily yeah, and feeling secure is especially important when youre in a moving vehicle imo. and yeah i feel you on the short issue, im barely 5 foot 2 and it rubs right into my neck and jaw... and im also super pale so it looks like someone punched me by the time i get out of the car lmaooo

If I could afford to get this seat for the kid I nanny for I would. But yeah I saw this goes to 63 inches tall in the five point?? Is it actually 58?? That’s still amazing. The kiddo is very very tall for their age so they outgrew height for convertible 5 point before weight. they’re 49 inches and 41 lbs. long and slenda hahahah. I decided I’m just going to do a booster (highback britax) for them. The youngest I’m still RF in a cybex eternis but I’m about to move to a Nuna Rava (38 inches, 31 lbs) I think you still need to lower the headrest one more notch

Dose enyone know where I can get the car seat from as I have a child with autism and adhd and she is blind and her age is 7
The Frontier no longer has a 90lb weight limit. It is only 65 lb. There are many folks trained to help determine what kinged of seat will work for kids with special needs. Talk to your child’s therapists, look at the Adaptive Mall website, contact your local Children’s Hospital or pediatric rehab facility and ask about special needs car seats.
