Ya, i have money but no "big ticket" credit. I have a 750+ credit score, but I've never financed a car. So I can't finance a car... It's the most idiotic catch 22. I have to pay junk interest rates first.
@tigerfaust
@tigerfaust 3 ай бұрын
@@Tential1 I hear ya. I've always played the credit game, but in truth a lot of banks and credit unions don't look at your score for approval. They look at debt to income ratio and bad payment history. The rates are bad. Everywhere. If you got 0% financing through the dealer--You overpaid. It's just a bad time to buy or sell anything.

Don’t feel bad about financing. Anything less than like 7% and you’re better off just investing your cash instead of rushing to pay it off. It’s weird, but you’ll have more money overall if you do that because of the time value of money. Edit: only as long as you are responsibly financing of course. No need to spend money you don’t need to spend, but if interest is lower than returns elsewhere then may as well use someone else’s money. It’s how the finance sector works after all.

He was asking the salesman about the prices of a base model Cobalt, an estimate on what payments would be, etc., and he realized it was out of his budget (we were both young and broke at the time 😂 ). He told the salesman he couldn't afford it. Meanwhile I was checking out the new Corvette they had on the showroom floor. Anyone paying $78,000 for a vehicle is crazy as soon as the title is signed it dropped 20,000 and especially a GM that starts falling apart within the first 6000 miles

I paid exactly 1/10 of that price for my 1998 Eddie Bauer Expedition with a 5.4 and AWD $7900 with 43k miles, loaded. Back in 2015. Now 110k on it. Will keep forever.

I tried to get a truck the other week and I went to a GMC dealership and when the lady asked me my credit I showed her my Credit Karma account (its was 663) and she showed me hers and I my score was 100 points higher then hers. And I STILL couldn't get a truck. She kept saying I had awesome/good credit and it got to the point where she said it one last time and I snapped back with "but not good enough to get me in a truck" lol side note I drive a Nissan Altima and I'm 6'5 shits hurting my back getting in and out of that thing. Love the videos man always funny as hell lol

Get a Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis or a Lincoln town car. They don’t make them anymore so they’re getting cheaper. Tons of room inside and super reliable and cheap and easy to fix. Yeah it’s not a truck but hardly anybody who has a truck really needs one to haul stuff.

The thing is, there isn't much on the new market that I even like enough to endure the conversation with the dealer salesman much less take out a loan. All the designs I like are on the used lots or on FB marketplace.

Yeah I get a new car itch every 6 or 7 years and I’m feeling it now but there is nothing I want badly enough to be willing to spend for it. And it’s mostly due to looks. Nothing looks cool or sexy and all boring colors white black or gray outside, and black or gray inside.

It used to be, when I started driving, you could find something for $300 that would get you around for a few years... and it wasn't that long ago. The last one I had... 1997, I bought a real hoop ride... some early 80's Dodge for $150. It last about two years. I moved from NY to FL, and in FL they confiscated the car because it had a cracked windshield and I had not registered it in FL, so it was past due. They hand cuffed me and towed the car. I let them keep the car, and paid the fines and got my FL stuff straightened out. But man... in the 90's, I drove a lot of really cheap cars. It was not fun being poor!

I'm never buying another new car. I got 2 more months left on my 2018 Chevy Spark. I bought it new with 100 miles on it. I paid $16,500. In 2018. I have 73,000 miles on it now. No problems with it this far. I'd rather buy 10 used cars and drive them until they blow up, than finance a new one.

The disgusting thing is how the car industry has made us absolutely dependent on them. If you can't get anywhere without a car, there's a fundamental problem with society.

I can't breathe. As a person without a car. So relate. So many questions what is a Ford tempo. And didn't the automatic seatbelts kill people. And love cold ac in big lettering and repaired in small lettering. I was helping my brother get his maintenance done at Toyota. Had a beautiful Mercedes SUV for this same price. It is gone. I couldn't even afford the two thousand oil change on it.
