Thanks for showing me why never to live in an apartment with car stackers, so annoying to use, can't have a 4x4, and i can just imagine the scratched/damaged cars if not parked correctly

Thanks for this video. I was interested in a condo in San Francisco to rent and someone complained that the car stacker was not working when they rented so had to do some research. No thank you.

Wow.. thanks for posting this! We were looking at an apartment that had stackers, but this has confirmed that I would never buy a place that has these installed. There is so much potential for things to go wrong, and I can imagine what it would be like trying to get out of the building in the morning when everyone else is trying to leave. Such a nightmare!

Troy: Yes we do have the exact same system. It take around 2 1/2m and I was told for safety reasons the adjacent system is locked out and doesn't operate and this makes sense. The height clearance depends on what clearance the building has, if outdoors you can have whatever height of vehicle you want.

It would be a real poblem if the underneath car was a station wagon or if they did not pull all the way ahead as it would hit. THANKFULLY this has not happened yet to me, but I can't control the other drivers and how they park their cars.

Yes, exactly. Others who have a lower car space tend to unload or load there car outside of the space & when parking it just have to crouch down under the structure when getting in or out of vehicle.

Brendan: Do you have the exact same system? With this one it takes 5min+each time you want to park, or get out your car. The adjacent stackers won't work if one is in use so sometimes you have to wait until your neighbour has finished the process before you can commence = approx a 10min wait to put your car in or out. Not to mention the height clearance you can't park anything taller than a standard sedan. I'll credit it with clever engineering, but far from a "great system".

if you are driving a car as gigantic as that, then you have no business living in a dense urban area with limited parking options. Having a huge car like that serves no function when you are living in a modern, densely populated urban development - your argument makes no sense.

Unfortunately we bought the unit off the plan, so didn't really understand it until it was too late & the place was built. Lesson learnt is read the fine print carefully! If we were fully aware and bought after the place was built I don't think we would have purchased after seeing this set up in person.

It has to be manually operated. Have to hold a switch in the up or down position to make it work.
@TPFraser11 жыл бұрын
Glad for your Brendan if it's convenient and works well for you. But this application in this location for me is annoying. Agreed it's about 2 1/2 min "operation time" going down or up, but the fact I have to operate down & up each time we put car in or out, plus the driving on & off / walking back & forth, the reality I live with is a approx a 5 minute process every time I park or retrieve my vehicle. You can increase that to >10min if either of my neighbours got their before me.

i was just hoping thru out the video something would go wrong and squash the old rust bucket under neith. I tell you after seeing this video i wouldn't park my car or give the keys to my car to park here. i find faster parking at on the street the video was obvious. this must be part of the tight arse apartments that didn't want to dig that 2 meter lower to just make another car park in two levels. if i had to buy into this scheme,e i rather die, then use this imagine if the car wasn't parked properly or precisely and of cause humans are always in a rush and in a daze.
Yep Walter it is. The large majority of people who have a top space do not use it for this very reason, and find parking on the street is a better option. It is annoying to go through the whole process, twice (down & up) each time we want to get the car in or out.
