Currently subscriptions options available are way more expensive than owning a car, we need to see how it is going to pan out in future
@1502abhijit3 жыл бұрын
The costs for the subscription model in India is just too high to actually entice am average buyer to go for it. You pay almost the entire cost of the car in 2/3 years depending on the model you go for and you still don't own it. Doesn't make sense. Added to this are the hidden charges in the model whenever you go for your annual service to the garage, no one is talking about this. The most honest answer I have seen on the topic is by another KZbinr, who clearly says it's not worth the cost.

Totally agreed. It just make more sense to buy the car and sell it after 3 years. You will be saving lot of money over subscription. These companies need to lower their charges. I did a lot of research on subscriptions while looking for a car and later decided it makes more sense to just buy one.

What if the car that I got develops a technical problem not because of my mistake and stays in the service center for 20-30 days... though the repairs are all covered under insurance - but I'm still paying that month's subscription fees for basically a car that's parked at the service center for repairs. 🤔
@AnandSriraman3 жыл бұрын
You'd be doing that anyway if you'd bought the car on loan and were paying the EMIs to the bank :)
@TheTwinPost3 жыл бұрын
@@AnandSriraman Yes I would be... but that's also going towards the ownership part of my car. That's like paying EMI for a house I've bought..even if I'm not staying there I'm still paying EMI for its ownership. But in a renting situation in this scenario it's like I'm paying the rent of a house I'm not able to live in and is under repairs.

@@TheTwinPost EMI of a house and a car is completely different. Your house is an appreciating asset, its value will increase over time whereas your car is a depreciating asset, its value will reduce by every passing month. So even if your "owned" car was parked at service center it is aging and thus losing value. In case of subscription you just pay the amount which you used or "depreciated". Any thoughts?

The subscription charges are so high. It makes no sense to subscribe when I can pay my EMI for the same monthly amount or less.

I have a d/f POV, when you're about to buy a car you shall pay Down payment which is of course from your savings right? And the rest shall be EMIs. Well it's of course not for the ones who want to keep their vehicles upto their 15 Years age limit so let's say if you plan to use that car for 1 year you can use that downpayment as the sub fees and you not need to pay the whole amount of car I hope I am able to explain what I am trying to say

Still not a viable option to subscribe for a new car. The per capita income in India is still isn't high enough to assume that people change cars every 2-3 years because they get bored. Cars are very emotional and even to this date a lot of families buy cars by putting their years of hard earned money on line(still have to take loans). Only really well enough families (not even upper middle class), high class can afford to change car every couple of years. Honestly, where I live I haven't come across any family or individual who changes their car(new car) even in 5 years let alone 2-3 years. India is still good 8-10 years away for subscription based model to gain traction

The future IS to NOT OWN. The 'Desi' concept of ownership is keeping the great barrier, rich stay rich and poor become poorer. Because poor people lack the imagination of upgrading themself at a constant pace, they are too much indulgent on the idea of owning everything and end up owning very little till their retirement age.

i think subscriptions are not going to provide any assert. lets say if we took a car for 2 yrs for at least 40k per month then at the end of the period you are paying about 9.6lakhs which doesn't give you any assert. if you buy a car with that price you can sell it at least for 5lkhs. we indians always wants the VFM. if you take UK market they providing this plan for very less price which is very encouraging.

How much sense does subscription model make who wants to use for upwards of 25,000 km a year? Frequent long distance trips, touring, etc? The subscription models have a limit to which you can drive in a year, usually between 12,000 and 18,000 km per year. Do the additional charges per km justify going for subscription or is it better to buy the car (outright or EMIs)?

Hello shumi sir, as i have been taught to use full clutch with four fingers to have proper gearing and I'm learning to use two fingers and it's not being full clutch, will it affect engine? Or how to use two fingers clutch? Can we have simplified on this? Two fingers clutching and engine..?
@rohannaik47613 жыл бұрын
No affect, as long as the shifts feel smooth and you are letting off the throttle while changing the gears, it is fine. Pro riders sometimes don't even use clutch to shift when the bike is on move(just blipping the throttle a bit before shifting, I assume many good bikers would be knowing that). I don't encourage u to try this enless u have gained enough confidence and experience in riding

But I don’t understand what they are smoking. Leave all do’s and don’t . Look financially how is the viable. I am here after 6 month of this video ideally there should be some economical plan. Let me tell u one simple plan. Maruti is giving 12500 k per month that too for base model that is lxi and also u need to subscribe it for 48 month else if u choose minimum period which is 12 month it is 16 k. So if u take it for maximum months it will cost 12.5 * 48 = 6 lakh approx . After that u need to give ur car back. The original price of base model of swift is 7 lakh on road. This might seem still ok but this is Maruti which still cheap check Toyota and Hyundai too much expensive. I guess this is a very new model and it’s needs lots of maturity.
@ishanksrivastava5658 Жыл бұрын
For a person buying Maruti worth 7 lakhs, he would be taking it on loan. For a downpayment of 1.5 lakhs and loan of 5.5 lakhs, interest amount @9% for 48 months goes upto 1.06 lakhs. So effective price of buying is 7+1.06 lakhs = 8.06 lakhs. Above this you have the insurance and maintenance which will easily go upto 1 lakhs for 4 years. 4 year old Maruti Ixi can be sold for maybe 3 lakhs. So isn't subscription pricing competitive to buying?
