You can't have an illuminated star with the Driver assistance tech. DISTRONIC CC is not functional with the illuminated star. Great video Brian!

I love your reviews Cooley, but seriously? That's what the number pad and red/green phone buttons on the dash are for, so you don't have to scroll around the screen to dial a number and/or answer a call.

The vast majority of people criticizing this car have not the buying power, nor the intelligence to ever buy a car of this stature and prestige. Coming from a family that CAN afford these cars, I can promise you these cars are far from garbage. Look at the S-Class. It puts almost all other cars to complete shame. The vast majority of you are simply criticizing this car because you lack the money to buy this and are shrewd and unhappy in that respect. The simple, uncomfortable, truth.

I love Cooley's reviews, but the only problem is that his work is more mature(?) for a lack of a better word...I dont think you can get the full essence of the review if you're a younger audience, this is more directed towards people who are actually going to buy their own car. I personally love it and dont want it to change, but I'm just pointing it out as to be the reason why he isnt as big as other magazines or websites. If anyone was wondering.

I don't think the E550 is necessary. just go for the 350 with some extras it will cost around 60 grand. If you want a super torque-fast convertible go for the SLK 55 AMG for less than 78 grand.

+osamaFXX The SLK is more of a sports car and is a bit more dramatic than the E550. The car's market is for people who want power, however they do not want to be too ostentatious with the delivery of that power and the sounds of the car. This car is more of a gentleman's Autoban burner for a guy who want to be able to pass with ease & comfort as oppose to jarring performance. In all realness the power is excessive considering most people including my family only use it as a sea side cursing car, however the ability to be able to acess that excessive power in a refined way is what a lot of Mercedes buyers want.

It's 2014, and back-up cameras are optional on most cars? There are non-luxury cars sold for 2014 model year that have back-up cameras standard. Luxury cars need to step up and make them standard.

Narrowc ross The E class AMG only comes in a Sedan version (E63 AMG Sedan). The E550 is the top model for the E coupe/convertible.
