I had the exact issue with my 2001 e320 hood. The right-side latch would not release. Found out the latch will release by tapping on the hood with the side of your fist as shown in the video...... while at the same time someone is inside the car pulling on the handle release.....tapping on the the hood just above the latch with the side of your fist will allow the latch to easily pop open. GREAT gimmick to avoid going to a dealer. Thank goodness.

What if the hood handle does not pop toward you when the hood releases?? This is the issue I am having with mine.

Exactly what happened to me, I didn't open the hood all winter,since I changed the oil. I was relieved that nothing was broke

in my case, in the Mercedes W221, there is no message that the hood is open, only on one side it does not close, what could be the reason?

Will this work for a frozen hood? my truck has been in zub zero freezing temps overnight. When I tried to pop the hood to hook up my maintenance charger, the hood wouldn't budge

Right. Petroleum products on rubber eh? (Was it too much to ask for the proper silicon lubrican on rubber?? Even those little stops!).
