that rear view camera is a great implementation, it allows you to see the ball hitch trailer and pinpoint it to where you want it without the need for someone else s help

Had mine 2 weeks and very happy with quality of ride and engine/transmission combination. Looked at Wildtrack and 4 pot Amarok, but 6 pot idrives as well as my rangy. At my age I like the lux feel a lot more over Ford, especially that gaudy wildtrack interior. Was lucky enough to see sitting just delivered at dealers and whilst processing deposit the sales person had 2 phone calls from dealers trying to grab it, so obviously in demand.

Cameron's point is valid. If you pissing-contest wannabees did any research, the average height of the entire human species - male that is - is ca. 5ft9in (5ft10 in the USA, Australia 5ft9in with Netherlands/Bosnia & H the tallest at 6ft1/2in, leading all nations). So, yes 6ft4in is far above the human average. The H-point for seat design locations in a 3D spatial cockpit would not comfortably cater for such. Specifically not for a 6ft4 individual seated behind a 6ft4 individual...

2017 Amarok will for sure be a classic in the future. why? will sell so few that will actually become collectable. $70,000.00 car with no rear side air bag? a ***** Kia comes with more airbags under $20k. love this truck but, extremely questionable choices from VW on this particular "update". I struggle to understand what market the Amarok will fit in, I been researching test driving comparing Ute prices for some months now, I can't truly make sense of it, 2017 Z71 is about $58k, the 2017 Wildtrak about $65k, 2017 SR5 about $62k, 2017 NP300 ST-X about $55k, 2016 BT50 GT $53k, 2017 Triton Exceed about $53k, 2017 D-Max (no price yet) but for sure about $50/54k... to have the Amarok at same trim to cost $75k is just madness. North America the Amarok would be laughed at with is value proposition compared to the big 3 (GM, Ford, Dodge), in South America would be too expensive, in Europe too expensive compared to the Japanese offerings, Asia too expensive just as South America, and then we have Australia, the tradies wouldn't pay $75k for a work horse that has limitations specially on pay load and those able to acquire the Amarok as a life style are most likely family driven market, with the lack of passenger airbags and tight space would for sure be a deal breaker, what market is this truck belongs?

Hi, I live in Italy. Here costs even more, cause of tax, I think. An Amarok Aventura, which is the name of the top trim in this video here in Europe, with some options, costs 68.000 euros and a full optional one costs 75.000 euros = 107.000 australian dollars.
@dodo199236 жыл бұрын
You can thank your wonderful gov. for the price increase. If it's not food or clothing, everything is expensive as hell here. I'm in puglia, and coming from the UK, to be honest i'm glad i'm going back. The days of dolce vita in Italy are long gone, it's become a cesspool of bureaucracy and corruption. Great review. Wow, optioned up to $75k and it still looks stock? Wheres the bull bar and fancy boots etc? Obviously still one of the top 4x4 utes on the market but I think it's no longer aimed at the tradie. Unless you want to operate out of a trailer all the time it's just not truck-like enough. Also it has a shocking reputation for reliability, hopefully that's been addressed. I look forward to future comparisons with the opposition, I just hope the testers can keep their personal opinions and brand bias under check. We just want to see them do the serious off-roading and then we can make up our own minds watching the vision.

@shawsie57808 жыл бұрын
Sean Fenwick all they did was lower the towing capacity from 3500kg to 3000kg, why anyone would buy this over a hilux is beyond me, might not be the fanciest ute or the most powerful but one thing it does have over any other ute is resale value$$

My best mate had a v6 navara, traded it for a Ford ranger, now he drives a V6 amarok I rang him the other day to ask what he thought about it? He loves it very fast ,he had trouble with his ranger hence the change but he put 78000 miles on the Nissan no trouble whatsoever that's why I bought the last one in the country 5yrs ago.I have seen V6 navaras with 25000 miles on the clock I will run mine into the ground 😎 I have heard of dpf filters failing on the VW in under 30000 miles that's ok while it's under warranty personally I think the VW is to expensive probably wouldn't stop me buying one yr only here once and the kids will only waste yr money when you croak!!🤙🇬🇧🏴

Why must Australians grovel around among the 'slim pickings' of mid sized utes. Bring the US trucks here. There seems to be an unwritten rule that full sized trucks must not be bought to Australia and that Australians must be content with mid sized utes. We rely on grey imports of the F250 and Silverado and they are not cheap. Even Toyota complies with the unwritten rule, because while we get the Land Cruiser we do not get the Tundra.
