VW Amarok 4-cylinder vs V6 towing test comparison review! (TDI500 v TDI600)

Is the VW Amarok a good dual-cab ute to tow with? You bet. But you really need to see the difference in performance if you're considering 4-cyl vs V6.
There's not just a huge 25 per cent advantage to the V6 TDI model in terms of power and torque -- it also has a permanent 4Motion 4WD system that can drive in all-wheel drive mode on sealed surfaces.
The 4-cyl? It's thousands of dollars cheaper, still has the same claimed towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, and is more fuel-efficient when you're towing, and more economical in daily driving, too.
So, which will be right for you? I've tested the two back to back towing caravans that weigh almost 3000kg (3 tons) to see... and you know what? Nah... you better watch the video to find out my verdict!
