A tip for anyone trying this recipe, if your sauce ended up looking curdled or the butter was separated from the sauce, then put the pot back on the stove, add 1 tbs of corn starch with milk and and water and keep stirring till it thickens or becomes smooth

Just made this abt 15mins ago and it was a huge success 😭, thank you so much I'm really grateful. I did half of the recipe cuz I was skeptical now I wish I did the full thing. I've been searching for a cream alternative as I couldn't afford cream and it was just beautiful and so smooth and silky 😊😭. Thank you so much. Ps : Guys make sure u use full fat milk for full effect and stir well when u r adding it, every lump of whatever will be dissolved 💯.

I would 100% recommend it. I didn’t have butter so I used ghee (that is the closet thing I had to butter and I was really craving it so I made it with it). I used less ghee than how much was needed because I didn’t want the taste of ghee to overpower it. Taste wise it was so good but the texture is a bit watery which is definitely my fault but it is still so good. I would recommend this to everyone one and I will definitely do it again with butter and cream

I was worried at first cause it kept getting so thick before it turned to the right colour stated and it was taking a bit of time as well to change colours. But so glad I followed the procedures stated so that it didn’t burnt or turn bitter. So grateful cause I didn’t have heavy cream to try it with,the milk was a perfect try!!!! Can’t wait to try again.

As some one asked if ghee can be used instead of butter.. honestly I have not tried using ghee but no harm in experimenting🙂

honestly, I just tried it with ghee and it does work BUT the ghee doesn't mix well with the caramel and causes these little crumbles in the mixtures. it would be better if you use butter.

J Rob keep the heat on medium low to be safe... I waited for the sugar to melt completely and added milk after it started to turn amber colour

I thought this was never gonna work when I first did it because it had some stuff from the milk and was too runny, but! I left it my fridge for 1-2 months and it tasted and was exactly like caramel! Thank u soo much

Anyone notice how extremely crystallised the sugar was on the sides ? Always use a basting brush to water down that sides. Because it wil not incorporate instead it will seize up.

If I want the sauce to be a little more thick, can I add more butter, or it's gonna just get more thickness itself with time? Also, how should I keep it in the fridge, can it be for example, in a jar with closed/opened lid, does it matter?

Oh my god so normally i watch youtube videos and test them out but they don't work may be i am unlucky. Rene Borroto the timing makes the difference and also the amount of heat.... stir continuously to prevent crystallization

hi so I decided to follow this recipe but my sugar and water mixture never change the colour to that brown reddish colour that caramel usually has but I went ahead and added the milk and salt butter anyways and I'm not quite sure if this thing is edible can you please tell me where I have gone wrong

i tried this but after a cpl of mins the sugar gets hard to the point that it becomes a solid but the color isn't changing yet. also my heat was low so i don't know what's the problem. please help :((

Don't let it go as dark as they showed you. Also turn off the heat when adding the other components. And maybe increase milk quantity

Vishal Shah it is probably because your sugar got burnt...sugar should be melted in low to medium flame... and needs have an eye on it... hope this helps next time🙂

I tried 3 times to make it same time However every time when I added milk it curdled off Even I turned off the flame waited 2 minutes then added milk and even milk was already boiled as well Now I have everything done best Now I have doubt on this receipe , are you sure is it correct process and you were able to make it when I saw your video I was 100% Percent sure I followed all your steps I was able to melt sugar successfully in same manner then I added butter till here aroma was good and tempting I turned off gas waited 1 or 2 minutes until temperature little cool down as soon as I added milk it curdled all three times.

You are supposed to put it back on the stoce after stirring the milk in and keep stirring. The curdle will settle and if will melt and mix together and come out good. A little runny but it gets pretty thick if you give it a couple of hours in the refrigerator

Abeera Shafqat you may find a little difference between both I believe since heavy cream has higher amount of fat....and makes it more richer and creamer... just my honest opinion

My sugar and water formed a hard top whilst cooking and had to bin the entire mixture, kept it between a low and medium heat. Not happy 😠

I tried making this and it hardened before it even turned amber. I didn't stir it with a spoon but i did swirl it around. Not sure what went wrong

I need help. I made this TWICE and it's not even good. Every time I make it, towards the end the mixture starts smelling funky, like spoiled milk. I have done everything such as warming the milk before adding it. Why is this happening ???

Dangerous Mango initially there may be clumps after adding milk... you have to keep stirring on low flame to dissolve it.

Jason Cap unfortunately I haven’t used a candy thermometer for the recipe to give you the answer about the exact temperature...my sole purpose of the recipe was that it can be done easily without any hassle or equipments.
