The "weird" names are the name of the pigment used. Most of the artists quality products have those name. Phtalo are well known, anthraquinone and crinaquidone are most recent pigments so maybe less used to them.

The Indian Yellow is made up of pigments that do have the little particles - it's down to the actual pigment :) and lol the pigment names - they are the pigment names - you'll find water colour and oil paints have the same - all down to the pigments :)

Oh really! You really do know everything lol. Did you have the same problem and ask?

@@laurengorbouldfineart3651 - I own the full 100 colours of Caran D’Ache Luminance, and have used them for a long time. And yes, the Indian Yellow is the same across all sets. Its quite terrible and scratchy for everyone. Also, there is a big problem with ‘046 - Cassel Earth’ colour as well, it’s extremely oily and the pigment is translucent (compared to the punchy pigment of the rest of the range) and it leaves crumbled lead streaked across everything you use it on. Just heads up 😊

Wonderful people at P.S I bought my luminance in open stock. I went looking for open stock and found their original site They are brilliant pencils, colours zPablos are fine Many pigments are used in oil paints and have been for centuries, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Ochre, paynes grey, Cobalt blue , just a few of these. Lapis lazuli was crushed to make a beautiful blue.fir the colour of the Madonna,s cloak I recently bought open stock luminance pencils , I have had no trouble with them ( March 2021) paper story / Norfolk art shop. 😀 caran Dache make hundred of thousands of pencils, so there are some that slip the net.

Hi Lauren. I love love these hues. May I know the paper you used for this presentation?

I think it was Jason Morgan who had a similar problem with one of the Caran d'Ache pastel pencils in his collection and I believe Harry at The Art Gear Guide explained the answer. Perhaps it's the same with yours. I am no good with coloured pencils as I can never get rid of the white of the paper within a coloured area and just hoped that with the blender you might have the answer for me; alas, no. Thank you finding this out, for me at least. I hope you don't mind, but I would like to make one little criticism if I may. You were not gifted the pencils; YOU are gifted, they were GIVEN to you.

Yes I remember watching that! And he had the same problem. The blender no I didn't like, to get rid of the white I would suggest just layering... Lots!! Right, they were given to me for my birthday, recording my voice makes me nervous and to not make sense!! 😂😂😂

I tried the 76 set and lots of pencils are scratchy and some don't leave pigment at all!!! I also saw little dots in the a light green and while drawing it leaves lines of a darker green colour. Anyone else with these problems? I'm wondering if the white print pencils instead of silver are counterfeit.

Earyeil A, I buy mine off paper story , an art shop in Norfolk, they are the genuine article they are Silver printed.

White print pencils are legit, they recently switched to white. I think they did that because the silver was hard to read and easy to rub away.
