I bought these pencils 34 yrs ago for my Art college course, I still have them now and use them in my sketchbook- I love them still. Great news about your donation for lighting, you deserve it x

I never felt the need to comment on your lighting- mostly because I know that such things cost a lot- but I have to say that the new lighting is a vast improvement. Thank you to the anonymous donor, you're a star!

Thank you so much Laura and the person who got the lights for me is a just amazing. The person didn’t want me to mention their name, but I couldn’t take credit for the products, I really had noting at all to do with getting them other than placing the order, it was all thanks to this amazing person. But the entire community on my KZbin channel and website are just amazing and I am so lucky

I bought these oddly enough in the town where that mountain can be seen. I was not happy with them, definitely student or youth grade. I rehomed them and got Supracolor which were denser color and softer. The Prismalo are not bad, but I prefer Supracolor. I use water soluble pencils dry to avoid the waxy burnish of oil pencils, and to have the option of a wash with water. Accurate review.

Very good review and honest too. My Dad has the non-water soluble version of these pencils. I tried them once. They are very hard/sharp to use. The slim core doesn't help that. I loved the colours but didn't like how they worked really. But I have never used other student grade pencils.

Oh wow, I didn’t even realise that there was a non water soluble set of the Prismalo. Thank you Sue for your wonderful support and kind comment.

Thank you for another great review. I'm with you, on that you should not expect the same quality from a 1£ pencils, as you get from a 10$ pencil. But, as time goes and we get used to the high quality, it's hard to always remember that. The set looks really nice, especially the color selection. :) About the donations, you put down so much job in your channel, so of course you have earned it. :D

Another great review Harry, thank you! I must say I'm also someone who felt that the packaging was very enticing and actually felt like buying them initially because of that. But I've seen them in use since then and they seem to be a more harder Caran D'Ache pencil so seems to be good for quick sketches and doodles. So I'm thinking of getting either the 18 or the 30 set, not sure which still heh 😵

Thank you. I was interested in the museum grade wc pencils, but this review gave me pause. These really seem to dissolve well-a strong plus. I would be very interested to see it If you have done the 3-way comparison as mentioned.

Hi JC if you check out this live stream I did a while ago, I compare all Caran D’Ache Watercolor Pencil. It is an old live stream so it’s a little bit different to the normal reviews I do but hopefully you will find it helpful.

TY for another great review. I'm glad to see this Co. coming out with something in the student grade line. I wanted to also let you know I have not received the Derwent Lightfast you sent. I know it takes a while for them to come so far. But, I don't know how long is too long. So I just wanted you to know in case something may have happened. I can not check on the shipping. I will let you know when I do receive them. Also, wanted to thank you once more. Hope you're doing well. TYFS

I have a problem with the pablo and supracolorsoft ultramarine pencils...they seem to lay down with a strange dry uneven texture and can't really use them for that reason...I do own a 20year old set of prismalos and their ultramarine is perfect...I wondwrwd if you noticed that as well? Ultramarine is a color that I use a lot so it was quite upsetting. I heard the luminance one is fine

Hi! Did you end up doing the comparison video of the three lines of watercolor pencils?
@bernadettszucs90525 жыл бұрын
I love your pencil reviews, thank you for that! Could you please make a review video of the Crelando colouring pencils? The one which has an elephant on the box? It is extremely cheap, but I don't know why but they are my favourites now, even if I have some Derwent and Polychromos pencils. It would be great to hear your opinion about them.

Hi Bernadett so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have had a look for these Crelando pencils but can't seem to get them anywhere in the UK. However I am so lucky to have loads of wonderful friends all over the world, I will get hold of them somehow, as soon as I can get hold of a set I will certainly do the review, I am always on the look out for new pencils and supplies. Thank you so much for requesting this review

@@TheArtGearGuide you are simply awsome! Thank you, and I will keep reading your reviews, I hope sooner or later it will be showing a Crelando pencil :)

Doesn't Faber-Castell have loose blades for their for example the clutch pencils? When I sharpen them I feel like the blades are being a little meh, versus new blades....

I have been searching everywhere for the answer to this question but can not find much info. What pencil have you found to have the smallest core? Aside from the obvious verithin, I just can't find anything. What do you think is the best pencil to use for details?
@TheArtGearGuide5 жыл бұрын
Katherine Bordier Hi Catherine, here’s the thing about thin cores, and this is only my own personal opinion, whatever size core pencil you use, once you sharpen the Coe into a fine point, that fine point is the same on a 5mm core as it is on a 2.5mm core. However, to answer your question, if you are looking for a large set of pencils with a thin core the Derwent Studio pencils are the largest set of thin core pencils with their 72 set being the largest. I am guessing you are either not fond of the verthin or there is not enough colours in the range. I will have a look through all of my notes and sets I still have to review to see if there is a thinner core available in a professional grade pencil. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help but I will look into it for you.
@katherinebordier61955 жыл бұрын
@@TheArtGearGuide Thank you! I lke the verithin ok its just that they don't have many colors. I have tried both the studio and the artist range by Derwent and I hated one and liked the other OK but i forget which is which. If you were going to choose a set of pencils for very detailed work, what would you choose?
@hamerray4 жыл бұрын
The proper way to sharpen a pencil is to turn the sharpener instead of the pencil if you can, that reduces the breakage of the point
@TheArtGearGuide4 жыл бұрын
Hi Raymond I’ve heard quite a lot of people suggest this method for sharpening pencils but I am not sure if it is just me or other people experience this, but I find it really awkward sharpening this way and I find the sharpener juts and chips the wood but like I say, this is probably more to do with me than anything else

I have two sets that are decades old back then they sold Prismalo I and “Prismalo II soft” They are very different the I is a hard lead and the II is definitely softer. So maybe the person who told you Prismalo is soft owned the old school Prismalo II.
