It's true. We Brits are prone to a bit of a parochial view. We overstate our own importance in the world and we tend to react badly when we're reminded of our true status. Such a reminder occasionally comes in the form of cars that do very well for their manufacturers in other markets but are clearly not aimed at the UK's very specific set of requirements. Such an example was the Suzuki Kizashi all-wheel drive saloon. Here's what to look for when searching for a used example.
Beauty might be in the eye of the beholder and all that, but it's tough to find any beholders who felt that the Kizashi was anything but a really handsome piece of vehicle design. The muscular bulging wheelarches and the sculpted tail pipes combine with a classic long bonnet, stub tailed silhouette with an aggressively rising beltline. It's a smaller car than something like a Mondeo or a Peugeot 508. Think SEAT Exeo or Skoda Octavia and you're not too far off the mark.
The interior design is neat without offering too much that's particularly ground breaking. Some of the materials aren't up to the standards of the entry-level cars of the premium brands but it feels far from built down to a price. The one shortcoming really only applies to very tall drivers as the sunroof robs you of an inch or so of headroom. The boot looks small but is a reasonable 461-litres.
The Kizashi is seriously well equipped. And the fundamentals smack of quality, the all-wheel drive system, clever CVT transmission and sophisticated suspension being features that its rivals will often lack. You'll spot the handsome 18-inch alloy wheels and the full leather interior, extras which could easily tack a couple of thousand pounds onto the price of some other cars.
It doesn't stop there. You'll get seven airbags, high intensity discharge headlights, an electric sunroof, ESP stability control, front and rear parking sensors, electric front seats, of which the driver's seat is 10-way adjustable, keyless entry, an eight speaker stereo with subwoofer, cruise control, USB port and audio controls on the steering wheel. The only option available was a touch screen sat nav.

On German Autobahn 6 speed manual got 650 km or range driving at average speeds of 160-190kmh just for the info.

I've had my Kizashi 2012 CVT for 4 years now. I've driven 20.000km with it, and last week my transmission blew.. Saddest week of my life. This car has been great for me and my usage. Always starts, always grips the snowy roads, never got stuck even in 1 meter of powder snow. Very roomy inside, great sound system too. I can recommend this car if you live in a snowy area.

@@zayteer1657is it expensive to run? Do u take it to a suzuki specialist? Do u have to like get a 4wd service with the normal service?

@@GANJAMAN-1987 it can be if you drive gangster style but I tend to drive smooth and it's not too bad. Maintenance wise I get parts easily and no I don't take it to official Suzuki garages any good garage will be fine. I love my car though no one has it and it stands out.

I owned Kizashi 6 speed manual...the biggest mistake was selling it, but I needed Station wagon for family and could have easily afford to keep it. My lowest consumption driving eonomicly was 6.4 l/100km. I did a test drive with filled up tank drove the car as efficent I could and managed to get this results. Ofcourse it was non urban 80% and 20% urban driving conditions. Only issue this car have are rear shock which from factory are oil shocks and tend to brake. There is a flow in construction of rear shocks which are not quite good protected with the plastic cover so that salt and water enters inside coming in contact with the schock bolt and does the damage to rubber seals. Car so reliable and underated which is just unbeliveable. CVT transmissions from Jatco tends to brake as they don't like long fast run on the highway they get overheated but to be honest I saw examples with 300.000 km still runing perfect. If you go for one with 6 speed manual you will have no problems same as with 2.4vtec from Honda. Suzuki has Vvti just for thr info. Seats are comfortable for me personally after 1750km trip i had no issues same as my wife. As soon as the older son get his licence I will by probably buy again Kizashi but 6 speed manual.

I have the Kizashi, 2012 pearl white, 6 speed manual. I bought it r years ago with 100tkm on it, now it has 180. For 4 years of owning it I had only 2 problems. Pne light bulb and one front parking sensor. I crossed the Europe with the car many times, very comfortable on long rides, economicam as well when driven gently, very fun on higher soeeds, stabil and quiet inside. Remarkable car. I want to sell it now but it is becoming hard to sell it because no one lnow about this car and how brilliiant it is. I may keep it for a while....

I Have one of the last one sold brand new on my location (2016). Currently onle have 43.000km cause I only use it on weekends ñ, I really love the car, it onle needs fuel and regular oil changes and nothin more. In my case is a 2wd 6spd manual gearbox which in my opinion is far better than de cvt one in terms of performance. Its a good well balanced saloon to enjoy driving every day. It also was one off the few cars back in the day who passed the small overlap crash test with 5 stars. Thanks for the video!.

Hi, in México, you can still find parts for the Suzuki Kizashi in any Suzuki Dealership. In México, this car was on sale until 2016. I think that in India, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia was sale until 2016 as well.

Could be the truth. Might have been a prototype using the Grand Vitara gearbox. The Grand Vitara also had the J24B engine used in the Kizashi, it came with a 5 Speed manual tho.

Kizashi came only with 6 speed manual...never with 5 speed like said in the video.
