A little Victron MPPT charger with Bluetooth would do the trick. Wouldn’t have a screen but you can see everything on your screen. Another option is a Renogy which is a larger unit but will have a screen. Great videos. Thanks for sharing

We also have our first ever 'off grid' weekend coming up in May and it's fair to say, we have the same anxieties you had, so quite reassuring to see how you got on. Well done. Cheers, Dave & Helen.

Hi there. Just been watching your vid. Firstly we do 90% off grid and we have done loads lol. Regarding the gas. I’ve do use both calor gas and Flo gas. Never seen a Flo gas one before. With the battery there has never been a problem so far providing this a good battery. We only charge our phones and that in the day.

We live close by to Rutland Water, still one of our favourite places to visit, especially when the suns out. Good to see you all enjoyed it!

Great video guys. We have the celebration 645, freedom camp often for 10 days plus, we have added 2 x 250w solar panels, a 2nd 110ah battery along with a 2000w inverter, great set up for everything we need. We also changed the solar charge controller to the EPEVER 4210 with Bluetooth and installed a Victron energy smartshunt with Bluetooth, so we know how much energy we are getting in through the solar and how much we are using. Not sure what it’s like for free camping in the UK but here in NZ this set up soon pays for itself with the savings from camp fees. Look forward to seeing more videos from you all..

@@BigWhiteBox it’s under the seat next to the existing battery box. Just had to jiggle the motor mover controller, water pump and existing battery charger to ensure there’s enough room there

I have a generator too run in the day too help the battery 🔋. I use calor gas too run the fridge the cooker and cadac. I also take battery chargers for phones or use the USB on solar panel also solar panel lights are great for the evening. I also changed all the internal lights too LED just too save power. xxx

Still plucking up courage to Offgrid. Need to get a good solar or battery backup solution for us.

It was a game changer for us, get a solar panel fitted on the roof if you have space and just a standard 110ah battery will be fine for a weekend, no need to spend a fortune! oh and another good tip is to get a second Aquaroll if you are all going to shower in the caravan!

Lovley fam. Well done. Why all caravans dont come with solar panels.

Freezer should work on gas but it depends on the ambient temperature - Dometic only claim ambient minus 15 degrees for the fridge, not sure for the freezer

Still in the early days of off gridding. However, we recently bought a LifePO 4 battery from KS energy, and that’s a game changer. 125 ah compact, just fits in Bailey underfloor battery box. Has an app to show you what’s going on with the battery. We have a 100 watt solar panel, and so far so good. You need full bottles of gas though as you chomp through this. I’ll be using some Flogas this weekend, so I’m interested to see if I have the same issues as you.

Just looked at the price, is it really worth the extra cost? Unsure of what the difference is between a standard 125Ah leisure and the Lithium version apart from you get a Gucci monitor system. I am sure there is a difference!
@user-pu3nq3wz7e Жыл бұрын
Looked it up, deeper cycle times so battery will last longer and I suppose the fact you can take it down to flat without issue is an advantage. I must admit I do get a bit twitchy when off grid and we get a few cloudy days and the voltage drops right down and sits on 12V for a while!
@darrenlemaire8750 Жыл бұрын
Well you only get to use half of that 125Ah in a standard battery, so firstly you need to go and buy a 250Ah, and even then if you are going to run it down to 50%, you could still damage it. Then lead acid batteries only tend to last 3-5 years. @@user-pu3nq3wz7e

Great video 📹 . We got down to 50% battery after 4 days overcast ☁️ weather. Strange thing about the flogas. We've only every used flogas as we have a supplier 5 mins from home. Have a 2021 caravan with a dometic fridge and not had any issues at all so strange to hear your issue but hope you get to the bottom of it 😍😍
