Good call on the cam follower replacement. One of the only things that I used to see on these cars when I was at the stealership was varying degrees of carnage inside the chain cover. Smashed follower, flat spotted cam lobe, chewed up/ grinding marks inside the cover, etc. Some people hear the noise and just let it go... 😒🙄 The only other things that were notorious to replace at the stealer we're the PCV, manifold as a complete unit, and the purge solenoid. Nooo dont Remove the Flaps :( you have an Direct injection you need Tumble , gasoline will not good mixing with air without it ...... full Throttle they Open Full but less throttel they will affect a good Thumble for more Torque and less fuel consumption ! I Hope you have to fully fill your Highpressure Pump before start it !!!!

We find that we are changing so much of the characteristics of the engine, and increasing torque over the full rpm range, that the flaps then become redundant.

Would you recommend doing them all at once and then getting car mapped or would it be possible to do them individually and then get it mapped after they all done ?

The carbon cleaning? You'll want to do them all at once given that most of the effort is removing the manifold. Wouldnt want to waste your time doing that multiple times.

How does removing the runner flaps affect the drivability ?

On a stock car, slight low down torque can be lost. On a highly modified car it's nigh on irrelevant.

TfSI motors suck because of this. Gimme a Vr6 any day.
