I watch what I have to know, thank you. I'm still thinking that the cut trough the lap would have to be avoid because it breaks the lenght weave which is the purpose of lapping over deck and bottom. I'm conscious that carbon tissue is stiff to be wrapp around but I would do shorter lap rather than cutting through wider ones. Again thanx Koby for your bagging show!

In the next board i will try to avoid the cut or to take it more up nose where there is much less pressure 🤙🏼

Came out really clean! Do you think its worth the extra costs and materials to vacuum bag?
@kobymaymonsurfboards73203 жыл бұрын
oh yeah, I wouldn't do it with normal fiberglass but with the carbon the results are great! it is so light and strong! I will try to show it in the last part of this build.

Nice work. I’m just wondering why you did the deck glass in 3 cut sheets instead of one...? I’m sure there is a reason.
@kobymaymonsurfboards73203 жыл бұрын
I didn’t, this is just the peelply - to make sure it’s sits better 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 The Carbon is one single piece

Hey Koby, did you use the 4oz on the bottom too? or only on the deck? was this 1 layer of 6oz carbon with 1 layer of 4 oz fibreglass for the deck? would it be wise to also use 4oz fibreglass on the bottom or is that overkill? and: didnt the peelply tear off lots of eps beads when you did the bottom lamination?
@kobymaymonsurfboards73203 жыл бұрын
Hi, no need for 4oz on the bottom, it doesn’t have the pressure as the deck has, the 4oz deck assist with pressure dents and also has the fiberglass flex feature that assist the overall all feeling- hope it helped 🤙🏼 The peelply wasn’t easy-to work with, i am uploading in the next 2 days a video of full Carbon without vacuum bag, will be very interesting to watch
@daliks3 жыл бұрын
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 previous carbon boards i did with double 6oz carbon on deck, single on bottom. No peelply but perforated film instead. Rockhard deck indeed. Seems overkill. The film left zero resinated texture on the carbon which made for a thinner hotcoat which caused some small sandthroughs when not supercarefull. I am thinking about placing the 4oz glass on top to prevent any damage to the carbon. I am worried that the 4oz will appear a bit dry over the carbon and willl have some fibre showing

@@daliks I wouldn’t put it on-top of the carbon, you are losing the unique features of the carbon

@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 could you elaborate on how so? I dont have any relevant knowledge on that.
@kobymaymonsurfboards73203 жыл бұрын
@@daliks carbon and fiberglass are different, carbon has no flex at all and fiberglass has, it it is a small layyunder the carbon it gives the extra strength and also provide small amount of flex in certain pressure (only very good surfers feel the difference) and the carbon wrapping the board keeps flex to min ,if you wrap the board with fiberglass the feeling will not be the same🤙🏼

You’d better put fiberglass on carbon.
