@@TeslaInventory It did, and it was easy. Buying direct from the manufacturer saved me at least a few hundred dollars. I waited a month but bought many other gadgets as well. The next one is a rear spoiler, one of the bigger spoilers. Any recommendations?

6:54 Never pull a connector out by the wires... this can damage the wires connection, causing shorts or opens. Grab the yellow connector and pull.

Before your disconnect the 12V battery, make sure you disconnect the High Voltage interlock located under the rear passenger seat. This will make it safe to work on the car. Don't forget this step in the future.

Interlock first, then 12V... not the other way.

Curious as to why disconnect HV under the seat before disconnecting the 12v battery?

You don't need to disconnect anything. Just unplug the airbag and scroll wheel plugs. I watched this install video while doing the job. Airbags don't just go off. The car will say the systems are unplugged and will immediately work correctly after replugging them. It's like using a USB.

When you bolted the carbon fiber wheel lug into the steering column with brute strength I was surprised. I would expect that nut to have a torque spec. Do you know if there is one and if it is possible to torque to that spec with a commercial torque wrench? I ask because I once snapped a wheel lug nut with brute strength. Don't mean to be offensive to you but isn't it possible a power lifting guy might over torque and break or crack that bolt. It wouldn't be me these days, I'd have to hire someone to make sure its right or use a power wrench.

Came here to state this. Great video but something like this should have the proper torque. Seems like he had to apply much more to get it off than he put back on. There's also a reason they're one time bolts. They stretch out with proper torque and then never retain the same qualities. Great for the video but a proper torque should be applied. If the bolt snapped you could probably hold the wheel on but I'd be concerned of the airbag deploying and doing something funky if the bolt snapped when it deployed.

Its a great deal to upgrade your steering wheel to a yoke steering wheel. Yoke steering wheel with full functioning multifunctional wheel button. Simply swap your factory steering wheel with Yoke style steering wheel to differentiate your car from the rest.

Hello Daerik, I am very interested in this exact steering wheel! Unfortunately Tesla has been rather difficult when it comes to getting information on what types of warranty I would be voiding if I was to make said decision. Do you have any information on that?

I haven't had any issues from Tesla regarding warranty work when I mod cars. I had my race car model 3 that went in for the fsd computer. Took a few calls to ensure they could do it, but was no issue.

Modifications to a car cannot void the warranty. As a consumer you are protected. If an OEM part fails though and the manufacturer can claim your after market modification was the root cause, they can deny warranty service.

It made my laugh when you mentioned the finger indentations on the wheel. In “the old days”, all of the steering wheels had them because they were made of metal, and without them, the wheel was too slippery. Keep up the great videos. I really enjoy them.👍

It’s called thread lock and should be available from your local auto store. Should also have used a torque wrench to retighten as this ensures that any stretch in the bolt is taken into consideration.

If you order a replacement bolt from Tesla it already has the thread lock on it. The bolt was $0.35, including tax, from Tesla. I looked up the part in the Tesla EPC (electronic parts catalog) and ordered it through my Tesla app. I picked it up a few days later at my local service center.

John Czech it’s looking for you to torque the wheel (ie provide resistance), so that shouldn’t be an issue.

It looks out of place. Incongruous compared to stock centre part. A wheel like that belongs in a car with Sparco Seats, harnesses and ripped out interior. Not a family SUV. Prefer the stock wheel.
