Crazy seeing everyone’s stories that have all ended up here from their experience, so here’s mine😂i went exploring some abandon mines and there must’ve been CO in the air at some part i was in, it started with a weird headache and then feeling like I’m going to die for about a week, then it got a lot better for a week, and then got even worse after i thought i had healed, i couldn’t walk without feeling like i was going to pass out and throw up for 2 days stuck in bed, it’s also given me some weird tinnitus, hoping the ringing in my ears will stop soon, I’m a little over a month in and have been feeling a lot better the past 3 days, praying that this time it is healing for good and not striking hard again 🙏

OMG - yes! I had intermittent tinitus from 3rd grade, but with & ever since CO poison (decades) it's been weird - not the whistle (still rare & random intermittent), but now constant tire chains mixed with a hypersensitivity to sounds tested in pitches higher or lower than most humans hear. I'm missing some normal range functioning that they theorize led to proccessing these other noises (electronic rodent repel devices were the worst - though I think I've lost some of that with my hearing over the years, almost - no, definitely worth losing. Had a building superintendent who didn't believe me - tormented me for months hiding them all over in places you couldn't get to or see them. My neighbor here has them. But denies it. I drove a work truck for a few months with a couple of exhaust leaks. when i finally got out of the truck, I had the worst headache imaginable for about 2 weeks. ..and they finally settled down. For the past 9 months its been none stop mild headaches and a couple of days off through the week of no headaches...but im always tired. sleep like 12 hours a day and than like a one or two hour nap every second day. also when i got out of the truck my hands were shaking and id drop stuff all the time like a pen im writing with. memory loss and it didnt take much to agitate me......but thats all gone now too. its just this fatigue im working on and the headaches are not much fun...like razor sharp pains on the bad days.

I have an exhaust leak in my car. I drive it only for necessity. I stopped by a gas station where a friend of mine worked and wasn't feeling well. So I asked him if he could help me get to the hospital which is only three miles away. He refused to take me to the hospital and essentially stabbed me in the back. I ended up reaching the hospital much later. I am lacking sleep but my ability to think clearly feels impaired. Something he used against me claiming that my confusion is me lying.

I got carbon monoxide poisoning from work. I have been noticing extreme memory loss, long term and short term, cognitive thinking issues and feeling overwhelmed constantly.. idk what to do or who to see? I believe it was a constant issue with the air ducts in the shop circulating the exhaust fumes from cars into the office. It started off as insane headaches, exhaustion and fatigue. Then one day it was so bad that I couldn’t breathe and had to leave..

I attempted to take my life in 2004. I was in a one car garage with a brand new Acura. I ran a hose into a back window of my new car and used a pillow to seal the opening. Sat in the car, listened to music and waited. And waited. And waited. It was so hot, I had to run the A/C. I fell asleep. I think I slept for 30-60 min. I woke up feeling so sick. I did not want to throw up in my brand new car. So I gave up, went inside and turned in TV. The final episode of “Friends” was on. I passed out or fell asleep. I woke up 12 hrs later with a headache. And went on with my life. Then, in 2011. I attempted it again. I had a brand new Chrysler 300. I did the exact same thing again. But this time, after about an hour, the car shut itself off. I think it was not getting enough oxygen. I was so mad, I gave up and never tried again. But now it is November 2021. And I feel… sick. My eyes. My bowels. My balance. Something is wrong. And it’s been wrong for years. And now… I know why. OMG. What do I do?

Would you consider doing a follow up video detailing the current state of empirical evidence regarding chronic low level and even subclinical level CO poisoning's likelihood of causing brain injury? What evidence do we have that this occurs and does exposure level correlate linearly with observed morbidity? There is very little reliable information on the subject and I see only one other comment here presently addressing it. Thank you.

I also had long term low level carbon monoxide poisoning. The gas was coming out of a vent on the roof of the restaurant next door, traveling up the wall and into my air conditioning system on my second story roof of my business. I was poisoned for months before we identified what was causing my symptoms. The damage to me caused me to lose my business. This happened over 3 years ago. I still have many struggles. The neurologist I saw offered me no help and no referrals because he could not see the damage on my scans. He identified my aphasia and watched me have other struggles but said it was all in my head and put me on an antidepressant. That was the sum total of my help. I appreciate these videos for providing validation, suggestions, and encouragement!

can someone suffer brain injury if they haven't blacked out from CO poisoning? reading up on hypoxia, it says the brain blacks out 15 seconds after oxygen level to the brain is decreased and brain damage doesn't start to occur until 4 minutes in ... at my old job I was exposed to low levels of CO but not enough to having me pass out and I would I would just get tension headaches, anxiety, and insomnia due to the stress of dealing with the public, but I also can't think of a time when I wasn't an anxious person..
@UtahNeuroRehabilitation

Absolutely someone can have brain injury if they have not blacked out from CO. It is not the hypoxia that does the most damage. Rather CO causes inflammation in the brain.

Aproximately 9 years later i started with posterior uveitus a rare form of inflamation of the eyes which i have had to treat with steroid eye drops ever since.
